SEERS REVENGE  by D.L.Smith

Revelations

Part three: Blood or Bond

Ida and Ann-Marie were arguing on the porch again this morning, their heated emotions infiltrated Ava’s sleeping form waking her up. She opened the window and sat in the chair looking over the estate, wondering what could they possibly have to fight about already? She knew it wasn’t nice to ease drop, but they fought over the most interesting things sometimes, just for the sake of arguing. Ava could see fighting among siblings was not only encouraged, but depending on the attendance, could be mistaken for sporting event. The back and forth with endless dialogue and comebacks, kept them both on their toes. Ava was weirdly enjoying the comfort she felt from hearing them tease and bicker, that she froze when she heard her name.
Ida began yelling at her sister for even thinking about encouraging Ava to find Emma. Her voice rose so high Michael got out of bed, and sat down pulling Ava on his lap, kissing her shoulder. Michael began nodding his head in agreement with his grandmother until her voice turned threatening. Are you trying to kill off my entire bloodline with your antics, Ann Marie? She cannot take any more stress, think about the baby, damn it. Our dearest one is already so stressed out over Emma, she hasn’t even realized she isn’t menstruating anymore.
Michael stood up and grabbed Ava pulling her away from the window. Why didn't you tell me, I should have been the first to know, damn it Ava this changes everything, we need to leave now. Ava stood still reeling from this sudden revelation, I'm just sick that's all, right, I don't know what gran is talking about.
Ann-Marie took this pause in Ida's rant and said calmly, she is the only one who can save my Emma. Ava is so powerful, but to weak minded to push her boundaries. Ava and Michael stared at each other listening. Michael was doing more than staring, he was doing inventory of Ava's body. Whatever he was thinking caused him to drop his hands, bow his head and say, love I'm sorry. Whatever you decide I'll be with you, just tell me what to do.
Ava pulled off her engagement ring and held it out to Michael saying, I release you from any and all obligations Warrior, lover and friend. She set the ring on the table and turned to leave, she was not going to make him feel trapped by this. Michael moved so fast Ava didn't even get a chance to take a step. What are you saying to me right now Michael asked hurt and afraid, you’re leaving me? Ava whispered, Michael I didn't plan this or even know what was happening. I just thought I was coming down with something, or maybe Ann-Maries new cuisine wasn't agreeing with me. I don't want you to feel bad or sorry, I'll figure this out. I'll do whatever you want me to do, adoption, abortion, but I'm not leaving this house. Michael picked up Ava's ring and placed it back on her finger. He looked her in the eyes and said, it was sooner than I would have hoped, but I'm glad to be having a child with you. Anyway, at least we can afford it he teased, trying to loosen the tension in the air. Ava gave him a teeny smile and said, we don't even know for sure, it could just be a tumor. Michael shook his head at Ava's attempt at humor, and said, gran is never wrong about her kin, she delivered both of us remember. Ava told him how sorry she was again feeling so stupid. Gran was right, she didn’t even notice. Weeks turned to months without even realizing it, her sight always screwing up her time line. If it wasn’t for Michael she’d wonder around clueless like a displaced drifter.
Michael could see Ava stressing out, he knew she worried about the bitty’s, and his father. They’ve been debating about Emma, and their safety, on top of Ava’s gifts and all the family drama. Right now he just needed her to be honest, and stay with him, he had no room for any more surprises. For the first time Michael couldn’t come up with a plan, not until Ava decides what she wants. He was thrilled and honored to be the one to help repopulate the Nostradam line, but completely overwhelmed by it. Their future wasn’t secure yet on so many levels this was a blessing, and a burden to carry. How long could he keep his family safe, No, not now he chastised himself. Ava needed him to be strong, stable, and supportive, so that’s what he intended to do, and right now they both needed a distraction.

Pulling Ava close he whispered, no matter what we are dealt, we will play each hand as it comes. There are no guarantees that we will get a happily ever after, but I can promise to try my best. You are everything any guy would pray for, and I am eternally honored that you chose me. If we are to bring a child in this world, I will be everything you need me to be. Michael didn’t get to finish his declaration of love because Ava jumped him. He didn’t care about anyone but her, and keeping her safe. He wished his father was here so he could vent about his fear to someone who’s been there before, but took solace in rule number one. Always listen to your Seer. So letting go of what he couldn’t control, Michael let Ava communicate her needs with her body, equally willing to comply. She rode him clumsily lost in her head, trying to stay with him and see whatever it is taxiing for her attention. He grabbed her ass, a cheek in each hand and guided her towards a smoother ride, having to admit he liked to control the pace. He lost himself in the moment grinding deep before she bounced that ass quickly away sliding back home, repeatedly. Her body tensed as her lips parted, her tits bouncing in his face. He was so absorbed in need, feeling himself explode unexpectedly unable to stop as she climaxed all over his cock.

After she threw up again, and they were done showering together, Ava noticed Michael holding her closer than usual. She blew it off as they got dressed, knowing he was feeling overwhelmed and protective. They went into the kitchen and both sat across from the bitty’s, Ava pouring herself a cup of tea from the pot. Michael looked to his gran with a thousand questions, she must have known one of them because all she said was approximately twelve weeks. Unless of course you’ve been having intercourse, before you’ve arrived, because that could change everything. Michael ignored his gran’s fishing expedition and grabbed Ava's hand and asked, babe what do you want to do, run or decorate?
Ann-Marie spoke up and said neither, you should be finding my Emma. Ida stood up and grabbed her sister’s arm with the strength they have never seen before and tugged her right out of her chair. Ann-Marie was shocked, but before she could express as much, Ida slapped her hard across the face, then let her go. Ann-Marie held her cheek while Ida said so calmly that it sounded like a threat, you will leave this house sister, I love you with all my heart but I will not tolerate you putting the family I have left in danger. My grandson and his Seer have blessed this family with a future and you want them to risk that, do you not understand what you’re asking. My only son is bound to your Emma, sworn to protect a women who took everything from him, isn't that good enough for you. What do you think Emma is coming here for, a reunion, milk and cookies? How long do you think my Brian can keep Emma away, why can't you see a lost cause like the rest of us? How many people does she have to torture and kill before you see, she is beyond help.
Ava stood up, walked over to the fridge and poured herself a glass of chocolate milk, trying to stay out of the line of fire so Michael would calm down. She turned to Michael and asked, where is Bo, like there wasn’t an argument going on feet away? Michael whistled and watched the old bitty’s standoff. Ann-Marie was crying, Ida was a force to be reckoned with and did not back down. Ann-Marie finally started talking, I'm sorry sister that I have disappointed you. I'm just trying to find and save my lost little girl. Ida laughed in a harsh way and said, she is no longer a helpless little girl. My Brian has made that fact perfectly clear, Emma is dangerous and cruel. Ann-Marie dropped her gaze and said softly, maybe he's wrong, just maybe he misunderstands her. Ida took a step towards her sister and said, my boy never gets it wrong, and what Emma has done to him, she's lucky he hasn't killed her already. Ann-Marie backed away, she wasn’t a fighter like her sister. She was getting a little too close to Ava, so Michael instinctively put himself between Ava and his aunt. Seeing Michael move into a defensive manor, Ann-Marie felt trapped involuntarily squealing in fear. She moved towards the front door, unable to go anywhere else.
Ava grabbed Michael and said, please don't leave Ann-Marie, you are still welcome here, but please understand things are different now, Emma is different now. Brian has never lied to me, not once and we haven't been able to talk to him to influence his feelings of her, she has done that all on her own. Please see it pains me to know my only living blood relative wants me dead, for no other reason than existing. If she dies I will be alone, truly alone. I know that’s selfish of me, but I want what you sisters have. Michael wanted to comfort Ava and remind her she’s never been alone when she started talking again. That’s why you need to hear me Ann Marie, if my Aunt Emma comes here with the intent of harming anyone else, she will have to pay for her crimes. Michael knew that statement was true, and he could see how much it hurt Ava to threaten her only remaining blood relative. Ann-Marie stayed silent for a moment making sure Ava was done speaking before saying, thank you dearest, I'm going to go sit on the porch now. As she opened the door, Bo ran passed her and dropped that rabbit she's been hunting at Michael’s feet. Michael bent down, keeping Ava behind him and said, what a good girl, you finally outsmarted her. Ida walked over and picked up the rabbit and told Bo, you caught it girl, I'll cook it for you.
Ava gagged at the thought and ran to the bathroom, Michael and Bo followed. After brushing her teeth again they went into the study. Ava ran her hands over the journals and tried to find one with anything to do with pregnancy, but only found the birth records explained by men, very unhelpful. Figures Ava thought, why would male Seers think to write about pregnancy? Michael and Bo sat on that uncomfortable leather couch and waited to see what kind of mood Ava was going to be in, knowing emotional outbursts affect her. Ava turned around frustrated and said, I hate that couch. Michael replied, so go shopping, but first can we check in with dad and see if he left us any information.
Ava walked over to Michael and sat down beside him, Bo in-between them. Michael turned slightly to look at her when she started talking. I am really sorry Michael, I know this is not a good time, and I know you’re stressed about Emma, and your dad. I know your grandma and aunt aren't helping, but I hope you believe me, when I say, I really didn't know. I saw you with a child multiple times, I should have been more careful, or realized. I guess your aunt is right, I am weak and useless. Michael replied, she didn't say useless. I know she cares, maybe a little too much with lost causes, but you've got to love her for her loyalty to family. Besides I'm happy to be a dad, train my own little Warrior. Ava giggled and said, what if he's a she. Michael smiled and replied, then she's never leaving home or your sight.
Ava adored Michael. He seemed to take the big situations with ease, but loses it over small ones. Ava decided she needed a distraction, and she hoped leaving the sisters alone would get them back on the same page. Ava focused on Michael and closed her eyes, silently calling out to Brian. Ava was floored, instead of seeing Brian she could see Emma. Ava must have gasped because Michael moved so close. Bo jumped down and stood in front of her legs, watching her every move. Emma was on the back of the bike, arms wrapped around Brian saying, Niagara Falls lover boy. Ava sat staring at Michael, shock all over her face once Emma was out of her head. Bo and Michael waited patiently, Ava couldn't find the words, every time she tried to speak all that would come out was, NO!
Michael did the only thing he could think of to change her train of thought, and said, I like the name Sabastian for a boy. Ava took the bait, what if it's a girl, why do I have to keep saying this? Michael gave that sly smile and Ava said oh my, Emma called your father lover. What, tell me the whole thing again from the beginning Michael said in disbelief, maybe the context is off? He doubted it, but he was trying to keep Ava calm. She told him exactly what she saw right down to the mile marker she saw posted around them. Michael agreed, it did sound bad, but Michael couldn't believe this, his father loved him, he could trust that above all else. I still trust my dad Michael confessed, he would not give me up for a piece of tail. Sorry he said right away, I just mean, he stayed by himself for thirteen years, why would he abandon us now? It just doesn't feel right to me. Then, Ava said trying to stay calm, it's not true. One weird vision is not going to change my mind. It was just a shock to hear and see it, my emotions are all over the place. Well Michael said, changing his train of thought, let's go shopping, I need Ammo and supplies. I'm sure the bitty's need things, and you love are in need of a new couch. Bo barked at Michael putting in her two cents. What, he said, you need things too.
Ava looked to Michael and said, I don't understand what's happened, I've never really been able to see Emma. I wish someone was here to explain all this. Michael thought about it and finally said love, this whole house has been doing nothing but talking about her. Of course it’s natural that you want that connection, or maybe you’re just more open to it. Ava felt comforted by his words and leaned over and kissed him. He smiled and said love, if we don't leave now, I will keep you busy the rest of the day. Ava sat up and laughed, again apologizing to him. I'm sorry, I don't know what’s wrong with me. I can't seem to get enough of you, I keep getting turned on. Michael took that as a request, and being a gentlemen he knelt before her and helped remove her pants and thong. Holding her hand as she sat down on the arm of the couch, he spread her legs and kissed her inner thigh, working his way towards the promise lands. Of course she moaned as his tongue explored her overstimulated vagina, grabbing the collar of his shirt when blew on her clit as his teeth gently tugged inserting his fingers.

Ann Marie rocked in her chair completely horrified that they could think her Emma was a murderer. Emma has been through so much, all she needed was someone to show her love. She wished Ava would just accept her Aunt, and not be threatened by another Seer claiming what’s hers. Emma has been cast away for far too long, maybe if she sees her family is here still waiting she’d change her mind. She wondered if there was a tonic she could brew that would allow them to see the truth, so Emma could come home and be Supreme, obviously Ava wasn't up to the task in her fragile condition.

Ava was thrilled and relaxed as she got dressed. She didn't know she could have Michael like this, whenever she wanted. It wasn't love making like usual, which was slow and intimate. This was raw, personal and she loved it, instant gratification under ten minutes. Michael seemed pleased as they went downstairs together. Ava couldn't help but smile and couldn't stop, Michael knew how to keep her happy.

Ida and Ann-Marie were cooking and preparing food for dinner when they came in. They weren't talking or looking at each other, but they were sitting side by side. Just like their children, both bound together by birth but can’t seem to agree. That was a good start in the right direction towards progress Ava thought. Michael told them they were going out for the evening and would be home for dinner, might be late, he added. Ann-Marie spoke and said, I don't mind waiting on you to get back. Ida only nodded in agreement. Michael asked if they needed anything, all Ida said was a package of needles please. Ava decided to tell them about Brain and Emma, and what she knew about their whereabouts. Ann-Marie only said thank you for telling me dearest, but my place is with my sister. I never had children of my own, only Emma. So I think, if I want my answers, I'm going to stay right here. If that's alright. Ava looked at Ida, this was her sister she didn't know what the protocols were when a fight broke out between them. She was thrown a bone when Ida smiled and nodded, so Ava did the same.
Gran, can I ask you some personal questions before we leave Ava asked? Ida looked at her lovingly and said, anytime dearest, what's your question. Ava gestured at Michael, and he got the hint. He made eye contact with his family, and they both nodded. Ava thought probably warning them to stay seated. He gave Ava a kiss, putting his hand on her belly, he didn't even seem to know he was doing it. After Michael left the room, he called to Ava and said, I'll be in the jeep, Bo stay with gran, I'll bring you back some toys. Bo laid down under the table with a huff of annoyance. Lately Ava began, I've been getting sick, but not this morning. Morning sickness Ida said, it will stop. Ava took that as it was normal. What about my nausea when I smell certain things, or like earlier, when you talked about cooking Bo's catch? Ida smiled at Ava’s facial expression and said, yes all your senses will be heightened. Overpowering is a better description as your gifts adjust to being pregnant, Ann Marie chimed in and quickly became silent. Okay Ava said, one last question and I have to go, Michael's waiting. Ava blushed, she couldn't say this to them. Ida being her blunt self said, you’re constantly turned on. Ava was embarrassed and thankful for her openness, and nodded. Ida smiled and said, this is normal too. May I make a suggestion, follow your urges and instincts, everything your feeling is normal, and Michael will like you involving him. Ava blushed and said, thank you ladies but it's time to go, see you in a couple hours.
Ida winked and went back to preparing her carrots and potatoes internally pondering. She’s never witnessed a female Seer before, and wondered if Ava was pregnant during her ascend what that meant for the baby, if anything.
Ava came out of the house and Michael jumped out of the jeep truck to help her in. When he got back in and shut the door, Ava grabbed the keys out of the ignition. Michael confused, turned to Ava and saw her arms crossed. Oh no, he thought. Michael nothing’s changed, I'm still me. Confused he asked, what you are talking about. She huffed and reached over and kissed him, handing him the keys. Never mind, she thought to herself, he doesn't even know he's doing it, treating me like a baby.
Michael started the jeep, while Ava changed the station. As they pulled into the woods she stopped on a song that had a good beat. Michael began to sing along making Ava giggle, she found his singing very comforting. He sang the last chorus of the song "moves like Jagger" when they turned onto the paved road. Ava felt sad every time she came through town, all the farms and stores looked deserted and run down.  Noticing Michael was driving like an old granny, asked him if he was okay. He said, yeah why what's wrong? Ava told him to drive the damn truck or pull over and let her drive. Michael sped up and said, I was only being cautious. Thank you, Ava replied and said, I trust you completely, so please act normal for now. He smiled and drove just over the speed limit, and understood Ava wasn’t thinking towards the future, she was staying in the present.
The sky was a little cloudy, Ava saw no change in that. Michael asked her where she wanted to go first. She didn’t care where they went as long as they were out together, so she said let’s drive, maybe we can find a way to get cable. Michael agreed they needed to make changes, but he asked can we wait until dads back, so I can talk about this with him, I don't know if the house even has an address. I wouldn't even know if it’s safe to do that, do you? Ava agreed, she had no idea and thought, what’s a couple more months in isolation. Then Ava wondered and asked, how are we getting a couch home? Michael smiled reassuringly and said, you order what you want, when it's ready, I'll come pick it up with the trailer. They continued to drive about an hour, Ava enjoyed the quiet of the ride, trying to ignore her curse, and the blinding headaches that accompanied it. She noticed the leaves were in there final stage as they fell away, it was nice in a way, to see nature had a plan for things. They watched a moose walk along the road by the tree line, never appreciating how tall they were, until being next to one.
The small furniture store had a good selection, but nothing jumped out to Ava as their style or comfort needs. She did play around with Michael a little bit before they left, bouncing on the couches like Goldilocks, looking for one that was just right. They did find the hunting store, so Michael could stock up on just about everything, 9mm rounds, shells for a shot gun, sharpening stone and needles for Ida, among other things. She knew they had an entire safe room designed and stocked with Ammo, but didn’t say anything, following her dad’s advice and let her Warrior handle their safety.
Michael pulled into an outlet mall that was built recently across the street, clear cutting thousands of trees to do so. Ava could never understand why companies just didn't build on sites already cleared, it's not like there's many trees left anyway. She grabbed Michael's arm as he parked and went to get out. Just as she did a car came so close they rubbed before the mirror was ripped off. The driver kept going like nothing happened leaving Michael reeling and a little taken back. He was about to get out feeling himself get all protective, and downright pissed, but Ava stopped him. Michael don't worry in about 10 seconds he's going to hit the guard rail and flip over. 3-2-1, all they could hear was tires squealing, the crash and metal being dragged across the ground. Michael said, should we help. Ava got out and started to walk into the mall entrance and said No, it's going to catch fire, you won't make it. As the door closed behind them, the car did in fact burn. Poor fool didn’t stand a chance with all the discarded alcohol in the car, and on his person, thanks to his slobbery. He chose his fate and drank and drove, and there was no way her Michael was going to potentially kill himself trying to save a man undeserving of his virtues, considering the odds weren’t in his favor.
Michael was still reeling in awe that Ava again saved his life, twice in one night. His mind quickly shifted to the guy in the car, no matter how pissed he was about the mirror, he would never want the man to die. How did he not notice that car? If he didn’t listen to Ava’s interpretation of the situation he would have been burned alive. How did Ava know, he didn’t even realize anything was happening, she must have had only seconds to react. She seemed fine like there wasn’t a commotion going on outside, yet she falls apart over breaking a bowl that probably cost a couple bucks. This was one of those times he wished for back up, because his understanding of pregnancy hormones, was out of his wheel house. Have Mercy, was all he could silently articulate to his ancestors, as he watched Ava gravitate towards a man singing and playing his guitar. Michael had to give the guy credit, he had a strong calming singing voice which made up for his choppy plucking of the strings. He noticed Ava was getting teary eyed, enjoying his message of forgiveness and turning the other cheek. So much so she became emotional when he stopped playing because she didn’t have anything to give him. Michael knew what he needed to do and handed the guy fifty dollars and thanked him for his inspirational message. He knew Ava was pleased by the way she held him as they walked away, glad he could aide her in helping others.
Ava was a little disappointed not being able to find a couch, but they did find Bo a bunch of chew toys and bones that she liked. Ava stumbled into a clothes store and splurged on some bigger outfits. She felt guilty spending so much, but Michael seemed to be having fun, throwing nighties, tee shirts and sweat pants in the cart for her. Ava didn't put a thing back, she bought it all. They also bought winter gear and new jackets for the bitty’s back at home, knowing Ann -Marie's stuff was destroyed. Michael got snow boots for both of them, taking advantage of Ava’s willingness to shop. He knew it wouldn’t last, the longer Ava was in highly populated areas touching things, the more agitated and emotional she got. He was just blessed they lived in the sticks, less of everything.
To distract Ava and cheer her up, he picked up the smallest pair of boots Ava had ever seen. They were adorable so Ava smiled along with him, even though deep down she couldn’t wrap her mind around being responsible for another human being, especially when she couldn’t even remember her own birthday. Hi Michael said, kissing her hand, taking her out of her own personal hell, her own thoughts. Hi, she replied realizing they were walking again. There weren’t many stores in this little outlet mall, and eventually they ended up in the baby department where Ava was trying to avoid. She didn't buy anything, but wasn’t stupid either, she checked out everything there was to see, getting more frightened and over whelmed the further they explored. Moms chasing screaming toddlers wiping their booger nose on everything. Dads losing their minds from sleep deprivation, and inexperience. Other moms giving unwanted advise, and shop girls chasing them down, trying to persuade them into buying more and more useless stuff. Michael asked her about furniture for the nursery bringing her back to him, disturbed by the horrified expression on her face. All she could reply without hysterics was not yet, maybe in a couple of months. Michael didn't push, if he’s learned anything it was to never pressure her. Ava had one pace, her own. You just needed to be honest and eventually she’d come around, if not they were great at compromising.
As they walked out of the store, Ava could smell the most wonderful aroma ever. She followed her nose blindly, forgetting everything else as it led to a little food stand. The proprietor, a large round man with a balding hairline, had just got done deep frying a pickle for his display when Ava approached. Michael bought one, and observed Ava eat it making him a little aroused and horrified, because it was so satisfying to her. He was perplexed and moved at how a pickle could cause his Ava to moan like that, so he paid the proprietor an extra fifty dollars to make her do it again.
Ida rocked in her chair on the porch, Bo in her dog house, next to Ann Marie. It was getting cold, and she hoped it wouldn’t snow until the kids got back home safely. Leaving the estate made Ida uncomfortable, she couldn’t protect them if they were away, especially without her Brian watching over them like a guardian angel. Oh my Brian Ida thought, what would she say if someone told her he killed someone? Nothing Ida thought, she’d do nothing but wonder what did that person do to her boy to deserve it? Oh Annie, Ida thought, of course you’d think the best about the child you raised. Ida felt guilty about striking her sister now she had time to think. She herself would die defending Brian’s good name and honor. What made Annie’s loyalty to Emma any different, even if she is misguided, she’s still family and deserves respect. Annie, Ida said her childhood nickname, please know I will try and see the good in Emma. I promise I won’t do anything unless provoked, I will only react to what is presented. Ann Marie knew this was as good as she was going to get. They’d see there was a mistake, her Emma was many things, but a killer?

After looking around, and finding nothing else interesting, Ava and Michael walked back into the clothing store. The cashier just got done bagging up all of their things and had a cart overflowing with bags. Why is it, everything fits in the cart while you shop, but after it looks like the cart exploded. It all barely fit in the back and floor space of the truck, but did add some extra insulation to keep warm in the cooling night.
The ride home seemed faster, it was dark and getting frigid. Ava reached back and grabbed a jacket they just bought, it was warm, puffy and full of down feathers. Michael laughed, as she zipped it up. What's so stinking funny she asked? You look like a big marshmallow, Michael answered but instantly added sorry love, you’re not fat, when he saw her face. Now Ava pouted, did she look fat? Michael grabbed her hand and said, I love you Ava, please believe me, you'll always be gorgeous to me. She gave him a half smile trying to let it go as they drove by the barn, almost home.
Ida and Ann-Marie were on the porch, both with blankets draped over their shoulders. Michael unloaded the vehicle and brought the bags into the hallway. Ava gave both ladies there jackets, by the way they acted, they either liked them a lot or just grateful for the warmer layers. Bo smelled every bag until she found hers and pulled out a large bone, most likely a elk antler and ran outside to her dog house. Ava headed for the kitchen and found beef stew on the stove with garlic bread bowls. She served herself and Michael dinner, the sisters already ate. It was good and filling, so much so that Ava fell asleep at the table, with bread still in her hand. Michael carried her to bed, saying good night to his gran and his aunt. He reminded gran not to lock out Bo, and called it a night.

Brian hasn’t been so tired and emotionally beaten like this since the day he lost his family. His new Seer has been testing his patience, with her irrational and explosive behavior. She would trip people, take things that she wanted, and even told a bunch of Children standing in line at the mall that Santa didn’t exist, as they waited to see him to give their wish lists early. Brian couldn’t believe the level of relentless cruelty that oozed out of this Seers soul. On some level Brian blamed himself for not being prepared and strong enough to match her intensity, but at the same time her hate was unlike anything he ever had to face. There wasn’t an aspect of her life that she wasn’t like this, her beauty attracted many admirers, but none could last more than one night. She was so dangerous and outrageous that even the hardcore crazies couldn’t get away fast enough. As he lied awake on the couch in her hotel room like he had to do every night, he purposely turned away from the open bathroom door. Emma has been getting extremely touchy- feely lately and doing things like this so he would look at her while she bathed. He could never come out and say, I find you reprehensively culpable in the murder of my wife and sons mother, and I think you to be a foul heartless predator that needed to be euthanized. Instead he kept his mouth shut and tried to ignore her as much as possible, just as long as he could keep her away from the Estate. She was clearly trying to get him to agree to something, but she wouldn’t come out and say it. Whatever it was the answer would be no, because none of her ideas were pleasurable. Right now he just needed some sleep, yet every time he dozed off she would attempt some new kind of torment to keep him on his toes. How could anyone relax when there forced to live with a psycho?

Michael woke before the sun came up, and dressed in his gear listening to his workout mix on his new IPod. Bo was already waiting at the stairs for him, giving him that hurry up expression, her tail wagging her butt so much she was practically doing circles. Instead of his normal perimeter run, he decided to go to the barn, to deal with a more pressing matter. As he arrived, the sun was starting to rise, the air still cold leaving the morning dew semi frozen over the landscape. He wasn’t too concerned, give the sun time to rise and it may just turn out to be a great November day. The planner in him disliked not preparing for his child, and hoped Ava would come around to being excited, once the fear in her subsides. He didn’t blame her, he knew she was terrified, her biggest worry is she’d do everything wrong. Michael knew better, his Ava was the most loving, authentic person he has ever met, and loves so deeply that she has nothing to fear. Their present predicament with all this uncertainty with Emma and his father, kept them in a constant state of worry, so he wanted to make sure his child had a place of its own, just in case he wasn't around to help when the time came.
The barn was just as dusty and neglected as he remembered it, from months ago. Bo was tracking some animal around the place, as they looked around. There was nothing useful around the lower level of the barn, the cabinets full of rusty tools with odds and ends laying around. He pulled a tarp off of a heap towards the back and found a pretty nice tractor, once the cloud of dust settled. Climbing up on top of it and turning the key, he was surprised and impressed when it started right up. Wow, Michael thought, they sure can make a decent tractor, shutting off the motor and jumping down.
He climbed into the loft space and found farming equipment. Racks, whole diggers, tillers and spreaders. He thought to himself, when all is settled, we should hire some people and make this place a running farm again. He understood why his family and Ava's believed in feeding the hungry, why not. We have the means and equipment, why not give the food away, at least the land would be used keeping it fertile. Michael still couldn't find any of the baby stuff, and wondered if Ava and gran heard Charles wrong? When he jumped down from the latter, his foot went through the floor boards, which he should’ve known better considering its neglected state. He righted himself and grabbed a flashlight out of his backpack and looked down the hole. He could see a set of stairs hidden under the tractor. Very smart he thought to himself, no one would look there, unless of course they could drive it.
Bo sat down and watched Michael, she was interested in this game he was playing. She went over and stuck her whole head in the hole his foot made, and whined when she got stuck. Michael pulled her out and told her to sit and stay, so he could move the tractor. He was still amazed at how this piece of equipment, with no yearly maintenance could continually start up. It moved so smoothly, like the day it came off the line. Shutting it down again, he walked over and swept the hay and dirt away with his foot, from where he knew the trap door had to be. He found the handle and realized it was actually two doors. Lifting them open, they were kind of heavy, and clicked on his flashlight. He was a little astonished to find everything was covered or in burlap bags, preserving them brilliantly. As he lifted the tarps, he found two cribs, one with purple decoration, the other green. Which one should he take up to the Manor, he didn’t know what sex to prepare for. This was going to be harder than he thought, so he carried them both up the rickety stairs. He liked them, a little old fashioned but they were simple, paint like new. Michael went back down the stairs and found all kinds of baby paraphernalia, glass bottles, cups, rattles and baby clothes. He couldn't help it, he hated the uncertainty of this shit with Emma, and he hated not knowing anything about children. So Michael did what he knew best, and planned for all contingencies.
He put the cribs, both of them in the bucket of the tractor, tied as many bags as he could to the sides of the bucket and drove it to the Manor. Bo ran ahead of the tractor barking at every bird and squirrel in her way. As Michael approached the house, he saw his gran and aunt sitting on the porch, drinking there tea. As he cut the motor of the tractor, Ida said, nicely done Michael. He lugged all the bags to the laundry room, when he turned his gran was washing all the toys and bottles in the basin. His aunt had started the washer and began washing all the clothes, and blankets. He gave them each a kiss on the cheek as he passed and carried the cribs up to one of the empty rooms next to the study.
He returned to the kitchen and asked his gran not to bring it up to Ava, he wants it to be a surprise when she's ready. Ida reminded him, she couldn't lie to Ava. He replied simply, I know gran, if she asks you may spill the beans. Ida pulled him close and whispered what's the rush, you have a couple months to get all this ready. Michael had a hard time saying this to his gran, but said Ava was right about the baby. So she’s right about seeing a woman crying over something remember, what if that something is me? I need to make sure Ava has a good start with my child, just in case. Ida pulled her grandson in for a hug and said, you will see your child, I’ll make sure of it. You are a Wakefield after all, a fighter. Besides Ida whispered, you could always just shoot Emma if she arrives and end this whole unholy mess. She pulled away from him and winked and said out loud, now go away, if this is a surprise, I’ve got to get this stuff cleaned and put away. Michael loved his gran so much, she always knew what to say. She's right he thought, I could always just shoot her. It may hurt my dad but hey, he'd do the same thing for Charles, and Ava belonged to me.
Michael started the tractor and was surprised to see Ava on the porch when he looked up, cause she has never been a morning person. She smiled fondly remembering she saw this, Michael driving a tractor. She walked over and he reached out his hand and pulled her up. She sat on the fender behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. Where’d you get this new vehicle, are you itching to make a garage that bad Ava teased? Michael laughed and said No, it was in the barn. Oh Ava said, where we going then. Michael smiled and said to explore our property.
As Michael drove he couldn't help but look at Ava. She was glowing and so heart stopping beautiful in her long sleeved fitted black dress. Her legs went on forever, her black knee high boots complemented the jacket he bought her, for her birthday. Michael pulled off the make-shift road into the woods a ways, and shut off the motor. He pulled her on top of him so she was straddling his lap and ran his hands up her thighs and watched her eyes light up with excitement. Michael loved that she always wore clothes that were easy access for him to take advantage, and only he knew she did this on purpose, despite the cold. He knew this semi pubic display was new for them so he let her take control, happy to follow her pace, pulling down his workout pants just enough. He couldn't help moan out as she absorbed his member, taking every each slowly. Ava laughed thrilled at watching what she could do to him. The excitement was over quickly for both of them getting caught up in the moment, but that didn't ruin either of their morning, getting the contact they needed. As they drove the tractor around the property and back to the Manor before they ran out of diesel, Ava whispered thank you and playfully bit his ear lobe.
Michael shut off the motor and turned to help Ava down, but she was already jumping. Her dress got caught on a screw sticking out of the fender, and got tugged backwards hitting her head on the arm of the bucket blacking out. Michael quickly jumped off the tractor and picked Ava up, pulling her dress free with one good tug. He started yelling, gran help me please. Gran, please, he continued to shout all the way in the house.
Ida met him at the kitchen door and directed him into the family sitting room. She took Ava's vitals and said, you sure she just hit her head. Yes, yes Michael was saying in his panic voice, why is she not waking up? Ida sat with Ava and felt an egg rise on the back of her head. Ida spoke in her strong voice, Michael calm down and go get me some ice.
As Ava laid there, still to her family, her mind was swimming in images. Michael holding the baby again, Brian bleeding from his head, Ida holding a hand gun, Ann-Marie crying and Bo chasing a shadow. Then it changed to pain, pure relentless pain. Ava's whole body hurt with shooting pains in her back, and stomach. She thought she heard Ida say it’s a girl, and sat up fast almost colliding with her because she was to close taking her vitals. Ava looked around and down at herself, where’s my daughter she asked Ida panicked, unsure how long she’s been out this time. Ida stood up giving her space and said, dearest you haven't had "her" yet, calm down please and let me look at you. Michael came in with a bag full of ice and sat down next to her. He placed the bag on the back of her head and held it there scrutinizing Ava’s face, making him question her sanity when she started crying, and laughing at the same time. He was confused, moving closer to Ava saying, love please talk to me, so I can laugh or cry with you. Ava wiped her tears that kept coming and said, I told you our baby was a girl. Michael looked relieved she seemed okay for the most part and surprisingly thrilled to hear her say our baby. Um dearest one Ida spoke, don’t get your heart set on a girl, you could have just seen me help deliver Emma, or yourself. Ava took the ice from Michael’s hand and tried to stand up but felt dizzy, so she sat back down, and looked at her dress. Well her lack of dress, and quickly apologized to Ida for her rudeness. Ida smiled reassuringly and said, dearest by the time you have this baby, you and I will be closer than ever. I'm going to be the one in-between your legs playing catcher to your child, unless of course you want to find a real doctor around town. Ava blushed and smiled at gran and said, let’s take it one day at a time. Not wanting to think about gran having one of her episodes when they need her the most, but one look at Michael let her know he already thought of that. Ann-Marie entered the room with Bo and said, do you need any help sister. Ida smiled a genuine smile at her and said no, no we seem to be fine here, let’s go get lunch ready.
Ava spoke up and said, can we have pizza. Ann-Marie smirked and said, I've never made one before, it might be a fun challenge. Ida stood back up, satisfied Ava was okay and said, sit still for a little while, leave the ice on and no napping for a couple hours. I'll go make lunch, call me if you need me. Michael looked at Ava trying to hide the concern all over his face, and rejoice that it wasn’t serious. Ava said very quietly, Michael I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. That was all she got out, because he kissed her so fiercely, she momentarily forgot all about her troubles.
By the time lunch was ready, Ava could stand and redress without feeling lightheaded, ready to join gran and Ann-Marie at the table. The pizza came out very thin and tasty with just the right amount of crunch. The barbecue sauce was an interesting choice, if anything it added something special to change it up. The ladies watched as Ava ate three slices in like a minute, barely giving it time to cool. Ava looked up embarrassed for her gluttony, but noticed they kept sliding food in front of her, like an assembly line. Ava asked are you trying to make me fat, still feeling self-conscious. Ida couldn’t help chuckle and understandably said, dearest you’re eating for two, eat until you’re full. After the baby comes you can run with Michael, and lose any weight gain Ann Marie added. Michael grinned that sly smile and said, or other calorie burning activities. Ann-Marie giggled when Ida said, not for weeks after the birth grandson, cool your loins.
Ava was sleepy but decided to go to her study to try and regroup. She sat behind her desk and closed her eyes, thinking how foolish she must have looked falling on her face. Michael’s expression haunted her, she couldn’t get over how much she’s hurting him lately. No matter what she does from this point on, it needs to be in the course of keeping him safe? Michael deserves the best and lately all she’s been doing was causing him pain and worry. She focused in on him and found him easily, pacing the porch. Bo watching his movements like a ping pong match from her dog house. She could see he was upset, his jaw line got tight, his eyes crinkled like he was really thinking about something. Ava couldn't take it anymore, all of their problems were because of Emma. They were fine back West by themselves, naive to all of the lost family drama here. She thought about Brian again, and how much Michael needed him, his subtle hints about being the only cock in the hen house, made her see how that could be frightening for him.
Ava was beyond worked up thinking about what he was going through because of her. Anger flooded her heart making her head pound and spin, EMMA she growled. HOLY SHIT Ava said, she could actually see Brian standing in front of her. He looked so stressed, seems he and Michael are in the same mood, the same facial expressions. Ava spoke out loud without permission taking her completely by surprise, come on lover, I don't know what’s taking our scout so long we should be looking for him. Ava was floored when Brian replied, do you think we are in the wrong place? Ava felt this surge of rage pump through her body, how dare he challenge me, have I not come this far. Ava raised her hand and smacked Brian across the face. Aught, the look he was giving her, the phrase if looks could kill came to mind as he turned back in her direction. Malice radiated from his being, making him extremely frightening. Ava wanted to cower away, but instead she felt herself rise to the challenge, completely turned on by his threatening tone of violence.
Ava couldn't understand this, what was happening to her. Brian spoke harshly taking her out of her mini freak out by saying, you dare strike me Seer. Ava replied cruelly against her will, you struck me first wounding me with your doubt. Don’t be sour lover, I only issued a little eye for an eye justice. Ava could feel and touch Brian, as her hand moved over his shoulder blade while she circled him, checking him out, feeling aroused. Gross Ava thought unable to pull free from Emma. Brian forced out, as neutral as possible, I'm sorry I doubted you Emma, where do you want to go next? Ava heard herself say, I want to find my scout, so next stop my loft. I’ll let you see where I fuck, and spend most of my time, and just maybe I’ll let you demonstrate your loyalty. Ava cringed as she endured having to rub Brian's' ass whispering, before it gets too cold of course, wouldn’t want performance issues to arise.
Ava began to flip out a little having to be stuck inside Emma’s mind while she experienced unreciprocated foreplay, from her future father in law. Ooh I forgot about desert lover she said whispering inches from his lips, as she wrapped her fingers around his neck, applying pressure to his Adams apple with her thumbs. We couldn’t end our east coast journey, without a little trip up north. It’s been far too long since I’ve went away from civilization with only one man in tow to amuse me. Brian nodded confirming what he already knew, she killed them. Feeling Emma apply pressure to choke him only made it that much sweeter for him, buying his time for when he could return the favor permanently. Ava could see the disgust and pain all over Brian’s face, especially in his eyes, just like Michael's. Ava slowly became aware of someone calling out her name, before she could truly focus on the voice, shock and pain pulled her to it. Ava's head cleared and she became aware of her surroundings, again holding her throbbing hand. Michael was standing in front of her, Bo sitting beside him on the floor. His emotions got her attention, he was angrier then she has ever seen him. What do you think you were doing Michael said raising his voice, WHAT the FUCK was that just now?
Ava sat still and silent trying to wrap her mind around what just happened, and how could she answer if she didn't even know what happened herself? Her head felt like it was splitting in two and her eyes felt dry and burned. Michael trembled trying to hang on to some form of control, and she knew better than to speak yet, he was just too pissed off to listen. Michael boiled over, and began pacing the room in step with one of her grandfathers who chose this moment to participate, thanks to the parallels triggering this past moment. Michael’s voice making her focus on his words, how many times do I have to ask you to stay safe, you’re constantly doing stupid shit. I love you Ava but why? Ava watched as his anger transformed into frustration, then to fear the longer he paced. Ending on defeat stopping in front of the fireplace, she could tell by the way his head hung.
Ava stood up, went over to Michael unable to see her confident man looking ashamed and disappointed. She grabbed his hands and said softly, Warrior I've got this. I could hear her intentions, feel her emotions, and see what she sees. Where I see danger, she saw passion. She struck your father, Ava stated still unable to shake the look he gave her. I know Michael said, you hit me and attempted to choke me out. Ava was taken aback she thought she felt him, when she touched Brian. How come my father and grandfather couldn't see her like this Ava asked, mind jumping from one thought to the next? I don't know Michael replied than said, please tell me why you would do that, after I explicitly asked you not to. Why now? Ava replied the only way she knew how with Michael, with the whole truth. Beginning with spying on him, and ending with the anger she felt triggering a connecting to Emma. Really, Michael said not liking this idea at all. That’s all his pregnant, betrothed and Seer needs to be doing right now, spending time stuck in Emma’s sadistic head. Michael could see Ava wasn't happy, and it pulled at his heart strings. He loved her so much and hated that danger was dancing around them ready to strike. He wished he could end Emma’s life today, putting her reign of terror to an end. He’s never killed anyone before, but he’d make an exception to protect his Ava, without a thought to the contrary.
Ava kissed Michael with all the love she could muster, hating being in a disagreement with him. She couldn't help what she sees, and explained that fact to Michael the best way she could. That she is emotional and because of that, she couldn't stop her visions from coming, but promised to try and control herself. Michael knew she had no control, gran said her emotions were going to be insanely off balance, like laughing and crying at the same time before. I just have to go with it, and not take it personal Michael reminded himself. Instead he just kissed her again until she let him go. If you don’t need me love he said, I'm going back outside to finish target shooting. Please stay on the porch, I'm using the scope, so you won't see me, unless you want to peek. Michael left the room hating it, but he had to train, victory doesn’t come for the weak.
In the kitchen, Ava found Ann-Marie holding a pigeon. Ida announced there's apple pie and homemade ice cream, if she wanted a snack. Ava nodded and sat down as Ida hummed and buzzed around the kitchen. She placed in front of Ava a slice of her apple pie and a scoop of mayonnaise. Ann-Marie grabbed the plate setting it on the counter and led Ida off to her room. No matter the disagreements you never let a member of your family embarrass themselves.
Ava got up and cut another slice and scooped ice cream out of the container. As she sat down, Ann-Marie came back in and apologized for her sister’s mistake. Ava tried being supportive and said, its fine that was mild. Ann-Marie asked how long has it been going on. Ava explained the few incidences when it has occurred was after an extremely stressful day, or bout of bad news. Ann-Marie was horrified for her sister, it was all over her face and displayed by how tightly she tucked her shawl. Reminding know no matter the drama, there was still love there. This made Ava wonder if Emma knew about her, actually saw and knew her, maybe things could be different for them. Doesn’t love conquer all?
Ann-Marie interrupted her thought in that southern creole accent that only came out strong when she was emotional, and said that she'd be taken her sister with her when she left. Thin yeah right to herself, she replied, I'm sure that's a lovely idea, but I don't think gran will ever leave her home. Ann-Marie smiled and said, then if you don't mind, I'll be staying with her until she no longer remembers. Ava wasn’t going to argue, she just stayed quiet and enjoyed her warm apple pie, knowing Ida wouldn’t go quietly, no matter how senile she became. As she chewed she heard the echo from a gun in the distance, and wanted to check on Michael, but she didn't because it felt like spying. She knew he got distracted when she bothers him, and didn’t want him injured because she couldn’t keep her eyes to herself. He told her what he was doing, she could hear it, so she washed her dish and went upstairs. She laid in bed, feeling tired but she promised she wouldn't sleep for a while. So she tried applying the same methods that she used to find Brian and let her mind wonder. After a few minutes, she saw a man posting signs in town for some upcoming fair this weekend.

Come one, come all, County fair

Ava smiled, this seemed like a lot of fun. Get out of the house, see the attractions and spread some money around. Maybe get a feel for what's left around here, and the people. Ava was excited she saw something and tried again, this time was not so much fun. She saw a cat almost get run over by a car, just barely making it across the road. After that she decided she needed to get up now, and hide the new cut on her arm, payment for using her curse for gain. She’d own the pain, worth it to go out with Michael, she hated not having anything to do.
This waiting was exhausting, day after day. She wished Emma would just make her move already, or at least go away for good, but reminded she wouldn't get Brian back that way. She wanted very much to talk to her aunt, try and reason with her, but even Ava knew this was asking way too much from her . Sitting down on her porch swing, defeated, back at square one accomplishing nothing. The air was cold, she thought she sensed a storm, but decided it would pass over. She opened her mind and kind of scanned the area to see if she could see or feel anything else, out of boredom. She couldn’t explain how, but she knew someone lost their keys, left them on the counter in the diner in town. She watched a boy slam his finger in a car door. Ava even saw a boulder fall off the top of the mountain, watching it destroy everything in it's path as it fell. Slowing her breathing, feeling herself getting too worked up, Ava opened her eyes, pleased to still be sitting on her porch swing. She didn't like to think of her self-moving around when she was doing this, especially since Michael wasn't here. A thought crossed her mind making her secretly excited, she might be able to leave and still watch the house while they have some fun. Ann-Marie came out and sat in her chair, taking Ava out of her thoughts. She was holding a little piece of paper rolled up in her hand. She turned to Ava and said, my neighbor back home says my property is a total loss. Peoples things are everywhere down river, looks like we'll have to start completely over again. My insurance company must really hate my family by now, I’m surprised they haven't dropped me yet.
Ava could feel her stress, and it didn't make her feel good, wanting it to stop. I would love to help you out Ava offered, just tell me what you need. Ann-Marie smiled and thanked her, but said she'll take care of it, but thanks kindly for offering. Michael came up the driveway holding his gun on his shoulder, Bo running ahead holding a duck in her mouth. Ann-Marie smiled and asked, so we having duck for dinner? Bo delivered the trophy, placing it on Ava’s lap, all proud of herself. she picked it up by the neck and said, um thanks girl. Michael of course got a good laugh, but Ava was in no mood to join him. Her head throbbed and she was tired, and couldn't help but think how good of a job she was doing, with kicking her own ass lately.
Michael sat down beside her, setting the gun against the house next to him. He looked a little more relaxed, so Ava asked him about going to the fair. At first he was not for it, she could see it in his face, but after a few minutes he smiled and asked, you got this. Ava nodded, adding there's a derby and some kind of shooting contest. She knew she had him, he always liked to compete. Might be fun to go on all the rides Ava added, sit in the excitement of the people. Michael frowned and said no rides love, we've got to sit that part out. Ava pouted wondering why he was being such a buzz kill with her fun. Michael knowing Ava said, love pregnant women can’t enjoy the thrill of rides, I’ve been doing my homework. Oh yeah Ava thought, how’d I forget about that, remembering the parenting books he bought. Awe that’s too bad Ava replied, because I was really beginning to like your amusement park. Michael laughed when Ann Marie snorted and sprayed tea threw her nose. He handed his aunt his handkerchief and pulled Ava close whispering, don’t worry love this ride has speed control, set to your specifications. OH COME ON Ann Marie said once she cleared her air ways, clean it up just a little in front of your elders. Oh don’t be that way Michael teased, I’m sure there’s a ride out there that tickles your fancy. Michael don’t make me tell your granny your being fresh Ann-Marie threatened. Michael got up and opened the door for them saying please do, she’d probably have a dirty comment of her own to add to the discussion.
Ava waited to see gran at dinner, she seemed fine making Ava thankful. She felt sad that Ida went through this and wished there was a way to help. Only if she'd see a doctor, but boy was she stubborn. Ava found her life isolating, she wanted a family her whole life, and now she’s beginning to build one again they were slipping away. Gran knew her before she was anyone, knew her parents, and grandparents. This wonderful, strong women knew all her family secrets, every detail, and it would be stolen from her. Why, Ava thought am I always playing against things that I can’t fight. How do you fight with the past, how does she fight Alzheimer’s  symptoms or hurricanes, and homicidal aunts. Love breathe Michael whispered into her ear, just breathe, whatever it is I’ve got your six.

Brian was fatigued, he didn’t trust Emma not to slit his throat in his sleep, and she’s proven capable of anything, showing she had no loyalty. He was prepared to follow her around and protect her, what he wasn’t expecting was her demands. He was incapable of even getting aroused with Emma around. Which he proved tonight when he tried sneaking in a nap and found himself tied to the bed, with her trying to stimulate an arousal with no luck? Angrier than he’s ever seen her, he thought for sure she would have killed him, but instead she surprised him. She left him tied with his boxes down around his ankles for hours. When she returned in the early A.M., she showed up with two very attractive women and the chauffeur. Oh your still up Emma said lying beside him playing with his limp cock. I was angry with you earlier Warrior she said softly, thoughtful, which made him take notice. Emma was never more dangerous than when she was acting considerate. You got me thinking she said kissing his lips, straddling his lap, and rubbing on him. Why would a man bound to protect me be unsatisfied to the point where he couldn’t fuck me. Then it came to me, maybe we are to close for your senses to get aroused. I know I enjoy variety from time to time, so I decided to be generous with myself and order us some entertainment. Tell me how pleased you are she said with threatening eyes? Very pleased Brian replied, worried she may attack someone or him.
Emma got up and inspected there entertainment, stopping on the brunette who couldn’t take her eyes off of Brian. He’s gorgeous isn’t he, Emma cooed in her ear from behind slowly unbuttoning her shirt for her, never taking her eyes off of Brian. Once the women was completely naked, Emma whispered in her ear to get Brian aroused, but under no circumstances was she to let him finish. Emma ordered the blonde to undress her, and give her a massage while she laid out on the little sofa to watch her Warrior. The chauffeur caught her attention by the door, when he began to rub his crotch, giving her an idea. Snapping her fingers and pointing in front of her, the chauffeur complied and knelt before her. Emma spread her legs making her attentions known, and when he leaned in for a taste she grabbed his chin. You are not supposed to be enjoying yourself, if you please me I’ll let you cum down the blonde’s throat. You doubt me, Emma said slapping him across the face? Before he even registered a rebuttal, Emma ordered the blonde to kneel before her. Grabbed her by the hair for blocking her view to Brian’s struggle to stay limp, and threatened, do not get between a master and her dog do you understand me. The blonde only nodded and waited horrified for what was to come.
Brian hearing the commotion, feeling Emma’s rage looked over at her. Did you like that Warrior, I can see you do? Shit Brian thought trying to stay focused on remaining limp, which is a lot harder than you’d think, with the endless cock sucking. After thirteen years of abstaining Brian was slowly winning the fight, but just barely. It helped to watch the other guy in the room getting head as promised, that was definitely a turn off for Brian, but Emma took notice. Enough she ordered, you got your taste, now show me your appreciation. Forty five minutes into her orchestrated orgy Emma crawled up behind the brunette who as rubbing her pussy all over Brains rock hard cock. Emma gradually pushed the brunette up on Brain until he was distracted by her tits in his face. Staying hidden by the brunette’s body Emma turned around and sat down on his huge erect penis, smiling at the chauffeur.
Brian couldn’t help the sensations he was feeling, and bit down on the women’s nipple trying to get her to stop rubbing his cock before he ejaculated. The women slid off him, and he was floored to see the back of Emma’s body absorbing his cock. No Brian yelled pulling at the ropes, straining to get free. He could feel he was going to lose, there was no way he was giving his seed to his wife’s murderer. Brian began to fight which only excited Emma more picking up her pace. He was so close to a release he became desperate, and at the last second he jerked his whole body sideways and came all over the bedspread, pulling his arm out of the socket.
NO Emma screamed, turning on him with the hatred in her eyes he’s never seen. Now someone must pay for your impertinence she threatened, and turned on her guests. Emma blamed the brunette for moving and giving Brian time to resist, livid that she was so close to getting what she wanted. Grabbing a wine bottle off the bed she repeatedly hit the women in the head until it broke, and thrust the remaining shard into her throat, never giving her a chance to fight. The blonde scurried towards the only exit, but Emma redirected her using her own momentum right into the door head first, knocking her out. The chauffeur froze with his pants down, staring at Emma unable to move. SIT DOWN IF YOU WANT TO LIVE Emma yelled, making him do just that.
Emma crawled back up Brains struggling body, licking the sperm off the comforter. Mm she teased sucking the remaining seed out of his limp penis. Her eyes glazed over for only a moment and a euphoric smile replaced her anger. You may have won this round Warrior, but you see, recently my needs have changed. I’ve had months of thought and decided my genetics weren’t the problem, for decades I blamed my genealogy for a weak bloodline. I see now I just didn’t have a strong enough mate. You were sent to me for a reason Warrior, and that reason is to help me breed an army of Warriors to take control of this retched decay of a planet. Emma I am bound to protect you, but I will not sire a child with you, Brian growled pulling at his restraints. Eventually you will give me what I need, Emma threatened laying her head on his dislocated shoulder, even if I have to stick an electroejaculation probe up your ass to get it. Untie me Seer I will not tolerate your cruelty, Brian demanded in pain having enough of being used. Very well Emma replied, but only after I’m satisfied, and you behave.
Chauffeur she ordered come over here and finish what he started, and don’t you dare get off inside me. Brian turned his head as the guy climbed in beside him, and penetrated Emma. She hung on to Brains cock the entire time she was stuffed, screaming Brian’s name as she climaxed. The chauffeur looked at Emma and said, my lady Call me Samuel, your humble servant. Well Servant show me your loyalty Emma said pointing to the waking blonde on the floor. What is your pleasure my lady, he asked watching her stroke Brains cock like it was a bald cat. I want you Samuel to fuck the life out of that slave, and show me how far you you’re willing to go to please me?
Emma you can’t do this, Brian struggled only being able to get one leg free. Oh watch me, Emma said walking over and sitting on the blondes face while Samuel brutalized her. Don’t you love me Samuel, she cooed listening to the women’s muffled screams. Brian’s protests only arousing her further? Oh I love you, Samuel grunted thrusting so hard Emma shrieked with pleasure. Brian heard an eerie hollow pop and the women went silent, breaking his heart. Again another women died at the hand of his seer, and he couldn’t do anything about it. Samuel didn't stop even though she died, he loved this women and was eager to show her he could perform. Emma having enough fun seeing Brian was upset, leaned in to Samuel and demanded he finish, and was pleased when he did growling in her face.
Gross Bitch, Emma complained standing kicking the lifeless body of the women, couldn’t hold yourself together a second longer. Are you displeased Samuel asked her, completely engrossed in her erotic fantasy? What can I do he asked, practically purring at her touch? Emma could see he enjoyed himself, his erection spoke volumes. She couldn’t help be impressed, even after this mishap, he was still hard. I want you to get rid of the trash and meet me here later, the fun is just beginning. What is it she asked him, seeing a burning in his eyes. Samuel continued to rub himself and stated I want to go again would you mind. She grasped his cock, squeezing as she gave him a generous tug and whispered what is your fantasy. He grinned and said I would like to suffocate you with my dick chocking you with my jizz. She smiled and whispered I'm no whore. Kicking the blonde on the floor she said, there's a perfectly good throat right there. Brian turned his head unable to believe what was happening. The Chauffeur was actually deep throat a corpse while he molested the other. All the while Emma was watching laying next to Brian fondling him. Hours seemed to go by, and Emma enjoyed Samuel's depravity as he willing stuck his dick in every orifice of these women getting her full moneys worth.

Ava couldn’t wait to go to the fair this evening, it took forever to get here. She wanted to check in with Brain, but didn't dare, just in case she got Emma by mistake again. Ann-Marie and gran were going to stay in and play cards, while they went to the fair. Ava was worrying how they were going to get cash to go with, and expressed this to Michael when he pulled out a roll of hundreds, out of his backpack. Plan B Michael said, just in case you wanted to leave. Ava loved this about Michael. Some people could call him a know it all, but Ava called it awesome. She could always count on him to be two steps ahead of her. Always know what she's thinking or needs. A thought came to her stopping all other thoughts dead in its tracks. Me, me, me, oh am I that girl. What do I do for Michael, but give him grief and make him worry. Ava turned from the porch and entered the house, she felt so bad, what's wrong with me, am I destined to hurt him. Ava walked blindly consumed by her feelings, down the hall and towards the back of the house, unaware of where she was going.
She could faintly hear a dog bark and arms wrapping around her, but she just couldn't pull out of how bad she felt. She got stuck on one question, what do I do for Michael? Ava heard Michael gasp, damn she thought, I said that out loud. She could hear him speaking calmly and explaining what she means to him. See, aught I'm doing it again Ava screamed at herself, making him unhappy, what's wrong with me, why can't I stop. Feeling like she was coming unhinged Ava yelled, Michael stop! He pulled away, a little taken back. Stop, don't you see I'm toxic, Ava yelled. I'm constantly making you crazy, hurting myself, putting myself in danger, putting your whole family in danger, hurting you, now I go and add a baby to this madness. Who the hell am I? Why do you put up with my selfishness? Why haven't you left me by now? I bring nothing but confusion and pain to everyone around me. Please when this baby is born, run so I don't ruin its life too. Michael grabbed Ava and brought her close before picking her up, ending her hysterics.
Michael carried her up to their room and set her down closing the door. She watched as he removed all of their clothes before he picked her back up and brought her to bed. He laid besides her calmly just staring into her eyes, waiting for her to be calm enough to listen. Ava watched him but stayed silent, afraid to speak and say more hurtful things. Michael eventually kissed her fingers and said, with these hands, you control my fate. He kissed her lips and said, with these lips, you control my emotions. He kissed her eye lids, with these eyes, you see my soul. Michael kissed her breast bone, with this heart, you’re my perfect mate. He caressed her breasts gently seeing she was melting, before he kissed her stomach and said, with this womb, my name lives on. He moved up and kisses Ava, tears running down her cheeks. With this body Michael whispered, you give me complete ecstasy. Ava couldn't help it and jumped Michael, fuck the fair she moaned as he slowly inserted himself. His goal to take his time and just connect with her.
They emerged eventually to take a shower together, continuing with the connection they both obviously needed. Once Ava was calm and relaxed they got dressed, Michael taking this chance to look a her while she was distracted brushing her hair. He didn't know how he could miss the changes to her body, while they made love. Coming to the conclusion that love is blind.

Ava noticed they could still make the fair, getting excited again. Bo was waiting for the adventure, they only had to drive ten minutes down the road. Michael telling her to stay with gran, causing her to whine and lay down. It was a surprisingly warm evening when they arrived at the fair, Ava left her jacket in the truck so she didn’t have to carry it. Walking around the dirt parking lot to the entrance, there seem to be a lot of people here, more than Ava thought for a county fair.
There was no entrance fee, just a box for donations at the gate. Michael dropped in a fifty dollar bill and kept walking, towing Ava under his arm. Once they got into the park, there were booths with pies, cakes and cookies lined up on both sides. All the ladies were giving out samples. All we had to do was check how good it was on the score cards. One being okay, and five being fantastic, and at the end of the night, whoever had the most points wins the hundred dollar prize. They were all excellent, but one cookie seemed to call to Ava. Mrs. Baxter’s chocolate and cherry cookie, they sang to Ava's taste buds. Michael paid Mrs. Baxter two hundred dollars to sell him all her cookies. The woman was so pleased, she withdrew from the contest, saying she was going to go enjoy the fair. Michael carried the cookies for Ava in his backpack.
After the aroma assault of the barn, Ava stated to Michael that barn animals smell worse then I remember. Michael smiled and said, it's an acquired smell isn't it. They came up on a tent the size of an arena. There were targets lined up at all different distances, different caliber locked weapons lined a table at the entrance. Ava observed Michael's eyes light up, a sly confident smile playing on his lips. Ava saw him eyeing the signup sheet feeling how bad he wanted to compete. She knew he wasn't going to because of her, so Ava nudged him with her elbow and said, what's the matter Warrior, afraid of a little competition? That did it, saying those words put a spark in Michael’s eyes. Ava watched as her challenge called to his soul on a deep level. He looked so charged, it was very arousing to see. Michael wrote in his name and grinned at Ava pleased. They had time left until the contest started, so they went searching for food and games, to get this date started.
Each table they approached he would lay a hundred dollar bill in front of the attendant, and say the same line "shoot until I win". Michael of course would win on the first try, surprising the attendant. Ava only picked the smallest prizes, so they fit in Michael's backpack. She noticed when she refused to take something after paying so much, they felt insulted. It was fun, the food wasn't bad, and the people seemed nice. Ava bought and tried a bit of everything she saw, letting Michael happily spread money around the community he was beginning to love. He was in a great mood smiling and flirting with her as they made it back towards the gun tent, when an announcement started going off over the P.A. system, calling all the contestants names that were on the list to compete. When they called Michael's name, his shoulders seemed to get bigger, and taller as he stood at the ready. Wow he was magnificent to look at, Ava was turned on instantaneously. She grabbed him close and kissed him forgetting where they were. He smiled and said, would you like to leave love? She thought hard on that fighting between her desires and his need to compete. She took a deep breath, and grabbed his backpack and stepped away. No, No, Yes she said, fighting her feelings. Michael took a step towards her willing to follow her when she said no with her hand. It was so hard to say when her body was screaming yes, but this was about Michael. she smiled stepping to him saying, Warrior beat them quick because I need your full and upright attention. His eyes flashed with acknowledgment as he grabbed her, kissing her again. Ava couldn’t think once he touched her taking her breath away, making her forget again that they were in a crowded arena.
Michael pulled away when they heard the announcer again start talking, and led Ava to a seat in the middle of the bleachers, so he could see her in his peripheral vision. She held his backpack over her stomach, and sat down with a bunch of ladies whose husbands were competing, watching Michael’s ass as he turned to leave. Ava listened to them gush over there men, talking numbers and statistics. She just smiled and watched Michael put on a number 23 and stand stoic awaiting his turn.
Ava listened to the rules as they were announced. Each man gets one shot, with the same gun, at the same target. The furthest shot from the center bull’s-eye is eliminated. Each target was with a different gun and a different difficulty, until there was one man standing. Ava was excited as each shot Michael took ended in a dead bulls eyes. Michael dropped men like flies, turn after turn target after target. He was unstoppable, causing the wives to start giving her the evil eye, making her feel vulnerable.
They announced a fifteen minute break to reset the target, so not wasting the escape excuse Ava walk over to Michael to get away from the bitchy wife parade. She congratulated him as they went to get a drink, exiting the tent. Afterwards they were standing off to one side, getting in some alone time to make out, when two men stepped out and said, where did that Wakefield guy come from? He's the best they've ever seen. Michael pulled Ava back a little further into the darkness, and they listened to the men talk. Looks like old man Johnson is going to lose that two thousand dollar grand prize this year. The other man said, yeah looks like his farm is the next to go. The men disappeared back into the tent leaving Michael a lot to ponder.
He kissed her and asked, love would you be incredibly mad at me if I blew this match. Ava couldn't help it, every time he spoke to her, she learned something knew about him. Wrapping her arms around him replied, I don't see any other way. Besides I'll make it up to you later, make you forget all about the disappointment of second place. He smiled that sly grin she loved so much and took her hand and led the way back onto the field. Ava climbed the bleachers and sat back in her spot watching Michael, who was surveying around her as he waited for his turn to shoot. She heard the gun go off and looked down the line. Mr. Johnson shot a half of an inch from the bull’s-eye at seventy five yards, the crowd cheered. Michael stood up, walked over to the target, looked at Ava and shoot wide, and didn’t even hit the target. Instead he shot the stag bust hanging on the foe wall between the eyes.
The whole place erupted in surprise, they couldn't believe he lost. Michael walked over to Mr. Johnson and congratulated him on his win. Mr. Johnson asked him why, as Michael shook his hand. Michael replied simply, you’re a better shot Sir. Mr. Johnson said, I don't believe that for a minute son, but I'm sure glad you let me win, that money covers my mortgage for the month. Michael pulled the man aside and asked him what's wrong, why is his farm not covering its cost? The man hung his head and said, my taxes are too high, the cost to ship is too expensive, and his tractor broke down. Michael smiled at the man and said, I have a tractor I'm not using, your welcome to it. than pulled the wad of money he had left in his pocket and set the roll of cash in the man’s hand saying, there is roughly ten thousand dollars here. Mr. Johnson started protesting right away but Michael talked over him, go pay the bank and come pick up the tractor. I'll leave it in my barn, come by anytime giving him directions. That’s when Mr. Johnson realized he was our closet neighbor and tried protesting again, saying you can't get something for nothing. Michael calmly smiled and said to Mister Johnson, I am getting something, I get to keep my neighbor.
Michael turned and met Ava at the entrance of the tent, he knew she
was giving him space for privacy. As they walked out Michael said I'd like to claim my prize now. Ava giggled and pulled Michael into the shadows unable to resist his charisma any longer, completely aroused by his generosity. When Ava climaxed too quickly, within moments of his insertion, overstimulated, she was embarrassed. Michael being the gentlemen he is, finished just as quickly so she wouldn’t feel self-conscious, enjoying the fact he could inspire her so profoundly.
As they emerged, the derby was underway, the sounds of cars crashing, and men yelling, lead the way towards the event. Michael found them a seat at the top of the bleachers, and Ava watched engulfed as the men drove in no particular order, slamming into each other. She could almost calculate the outcome as she enjoyed the atmosphere of the people around her. Every time someone turned their car or crashed Ava could see the result clearer. Michael was talking to people around him who were telling him he’s the best shot they’ve seen in decades, while Ava was whispering her predictions in his ear, ignoring the building migraine.
A man sitting beside Ava, pushed her in an attempt to hit Michael for eliminating him in the shooting contest, sick of hearing his neighbors praise this nobody. Ava had no time to react taken completely by surprise. Michael grabbed her just as she began to fall off the back of the bleachers, and spun around and punched the guy in the same movement. Michael held his foot on the man’s chest, as he helped Ava sit back down, and noticed a cut on her lip. His demeanor changed in an instant, like something snapped inside him. He was not himself, he was so angry that his body radiated that violence was imminent. She could feel the rage come off him making him gloriously frightening. Michael let her go and spun around sensing another attack. Ava watched mesmerized by Michael’s raw power, making her forget that the stands were full of confused people staring at them. Michael applied pressure with his boot, as the man who pushed her tried to get off the flat of his back. He had his gun to the head of a second man who tried to blitz him when his back was turned, and his right hand strangling the life out of a third man who tried to help. The entire assault was over in thirty seconds, Michael able to disarm three men while keeping Ava safe and alone behind him.
Ava finally became aware that people were frightened of how quickly Michael took down three assailants, all alone. All their emotions bombarding her along with Michael’s was draining. Mr. Johnson held his hands up, asking Michael what happen son, while he slowly moved towards him. Michael spoke with such force and power, the other men around him backed away slowly. These men Michael growled, attempted and failed at snuffing out my future, it is only right that I end there’s. Mr. Johnson looked afraid, but said son, your better then these drunken fools. They are jealous idiots, who couldn't measure up to a man half their age. Look at your beautiful wife, let’s go get her some spirits. Ava saw his mistake the minute he said it. Michael roared, she cannot drink, she is carrying my child. These men had no right, they deserve to suffer. You think you can take from me, and I'd let you live. You mistake my kindness for weakness, I have already paid enough for a hundred lifetimes.
Ava watched overwhelmed as Michael squeezed the man’s throat, she could feel the fear radiating out of him as his airway became restricted. Ava heard the man who pushed her ribs break under Michael’s foot, and she could hear the tiny little clicks in the gun as he slowly pulled on the trigger, rage consuming him. Slowly she pushed her fear for these men aside and stood behind Michael, putting her hands around to his chest. Whispering Warrior there is no need to fight any more, you have proven your point, these men will pay, but not right now. I need you Michael, bring me home. Slowly Ava felt Michael regain some composure, only just enough to throw the man he had by the throat down the bleachers, knocking himself out in the fall. In the same movement he stomped down hard on the man’s chest and broke the other guy’s nose with the butt of his gun. Ava was so scared but surprised, she never even saw Michael grab his gun to begin with, as he fought these men. He had it neutralized in moments before the majority of the crowd really realized an assault had taken place. Michael holstered the gun behind his back and picked up Ava and apologized for ruining their date night. She just kissed him, he had every right to be angry, she would be too if he didn’t beat her to the punch, literally.
Mr. Johnson sat back down, as the other men scattered, I guess they had enough of Michael for tonight, he said to the spectators around him. Michael moved down the bleachers holding Ava in his arms. Men and woman parted and stood, clapping as he went by. From what Ava gathered, these men were bad news, harassing the other farmers. Michael was an instant hero to them, but he could care less what anyone thought, as long as Ava was safe. By the time they got to the jeep, Michael was calming down. He helped her in and wiped the blood off her lip with his thumb, before he climbed in beside her and smiled, apologizing for his overreaction. Ava replied, don't apologize Warrior that was hot. Michael said well in that case, let’s get home, so I can take advantage of my wife, flashing that sly grin remembering what Mr. Johnson called Ava. Ava giggled, she loved the sound of that and asked, so when do you want to make it official husband? He smiled so bright and said, how about tomorrow, we can go to the courthouse. Ava laughed with him and agreed, tomorrow sounded like a plan. Ava knew with everything going on that they didn’t have time to get married, it was nice dream though.
As they drove, Ava noticed a rundown piece of property next to their barn, but at second glance, she watched it change. Ava told Michael what she was seeing, he smiled and said, so Mr. Johnson saves his farm. Ava described to him all the brush was gone, cattle lined the lot, and she saw Michael’s tractor in the corn field. By the time they pulled up to the house, the fight was forgotten and Michael was happy and laughing holding her hand, pleased at their productive evening.

Brian was left tied up for days, Emma only coming twice a day to offer him sustenance, but only if he gave her what she wanted. Samuel enjoyed these sessions, because every time Brian denied her he got the goods. By the third day Emma was furious at him and threatened him with bodily harm if he didn’t comply. Brian didn’t budge, he took her beatings and her harsh treatment. He was a Warrior he could go days more without food or water. Emma tried everything to get Brian aroused with no luck, frustrated. What she didn’t know was Brian held onto images of Vivienne’s dead body every time she tried in his mind. That reminder kept Brian centered, he’d rather die slowly than penetrate and breed with this murderer. Brian only hoped he died before she could use scientific methods to help her cause. She tried lacing his water with enhancing drugs but he refused to drink it. Brian woke in the evening unsure how long he was out, not having food and water was taking its toll on his energy levels. Overhearing Samuel offer to procreate with Emma was encouraging. Brian hoped this idea would turn her off him, but it had the opposite effect. She threw him out and told him not to come back until she called him, which may turn out to be never. Brian was crushed when her human slave Samuel just obeyed and left. Now he was gone she turned her attentions on him. My Warrior she purred I can see you do not love me, and I have a feeling your oath is not strong because you will not obey me. I will have your sperm, even if I have to take it from your recently deceased body. Getting no response from him Emma said, this has been fun but I grow bored and it’s been far too long since my scout has come to visit. I think it’s time I take my leave and find him.
Take me with you Brian pleaded. Why would I do that Emma hissed, when you have been so uncooperative thus far. Brian had to think through the fog in his brain to protect his kin from this bitch. Seer it’s not that your unattractive, I just can’t fuck in front of other men. Why didn’t you say so Emma purred, slowly lying next to him rubbing his chest. Why don’t you show me your loyalty digging her nails into his chest as she sat down over his groin? Brian pretended to try while keeping Vivienne planted firmly in his thoughts. What’s the holdup Emma demanded waiting for his erection. Emma I’m quite dehydrated Brian persisted. I don’t have time for this she hissed at him getting off him. Wait Brian said, take me with you and I promise to hydrate. Please he begged watching her go for the elevator door. It’s only been minutes since the last man left, wouldn’t you rather wait and be sure it’s mine. Seer you didn’t use protection with any of those men, you could be pregnant already with a weak child. Emma froze and spun slowly to look at him. He was waiting for her rebuttal in the form of pain when she actually smiled. You are my Warrior aren’t you? Can’t get it up around other men touching me, why didn’t you say you’re a one women kind of guy. Because you’re the boss Brian smartly said. His Seer smiled so big you’d thought he just blew a load in a cup for her to drink. Grabbing her knife from her boot, Emma straddled Brian once more and lifted the blade. Brian didn’t look anywhere but in her eyes and was surprised when she cut his hands free, expecting it to be his throat. Laying on him she whispered mark your calendar lover because in a month you’re doing as you’re told. Now fix yourself, we have places to be. Brian knew popping his arm back into place after being out for days would be painful, but at least he has bought himself some time.

Michael didn't sleep at all last night, he was too keyed up to sleep. His Ava is having his baby, and she said YES! Ever since the first time he saw her, he couldn't think of anything else in the world but her. Ava's smile, her hair, the look she gives him when she wants him, or the way her beautiful body looks when she is carrying his child. Michael was so happy, and his only regret was his dad wouldn't be here to celebrate in his good fortunes.
Taking Bo out before he started his big plan, Ida came outside with a small box and her tea, handing the box to Michael. He set it on the railing and pulled out a long white satin dress. It was simple, lite, and had a white pearl necklace, holding the fabric around the neck. It was so Ava. Michael looked at his grandmother and said, it's perfect. Ida grinned and said, just like Ava's mother. So this was Sarah's dress Michael whispered sadly? Grandson, Ava's mother was the whole package, just like your Ava. She would be so pleased that you are together. She saved it for a reason. Your mothers ring is safety on Ava's hand, why not honor Sarah too. Michael new this was right and hugged his gran before he sat down and told her of his plans.
The sun woke Ava up, rolling over finding Michael gone. She looked at the clock in shock, ten thirty. As she stretched, she noticed a white dress draped over the mirror. Oh, she said out loud, I forgot were getting married today, wondering how he pulled it off. She got up, and saw the pretty white ankle boots on the floor underneath the mirror, he thinks of everything. I wonder where he got it on such short notice. She ran her hand down the fabric admiring the delicacy of it when everything went dark, Sarah appeared standing in the mirror, wearing this dress. Ava instantly teared up, and watched as Michael's mother Vivienne, brushed and put up her mother’s hair. Ava wiped a tear from her cheek and kissed the mirror.
Ava slid the dress on, it was so light weight, and she felt like she was wearing nothing, of course he'd pick this one. She clasped the pearl behind her neck and pulled on her long white gloves and looked in the mirror. Ava ran her hands down her body and noticed in this dress, you can see the defined baby bump. Sliding on the boots said, okay Michael surprise me. She didn't peek in on him, she just brushed her teeth, put on a little lip gloss, and eye liner and went down to breakfast.
Ann-Marie made pancakes and eggs, poured Ava some orange juice and milk. Ida came out of her room with a little tool box. Ava watched as she opened the lid and pulled out an apron and draped it over her dress. She proceeded to brush Ava's hair, as Ann-Marie placed breakfast in front of her. Ava never had anyone brush her hair before, or cook her breakfast like this. She always did it on her own, even when she was younger. So she ate and just tried to enjoy this experience. She needed to know, so she could pass this on to her child. Ava thanked Ann-Marie and grabbed her hand. She wanted to show kindness and love but she couldn't move, Ida was braiding her hair. Ann-Marie chimed in saying no, no, braid the sides and tie them up in this bow. Ida handed her sister a handful of hair and started on the other side. They tied the bow in, but left the rest of her hair down in the back. See Ann-Marie said to her sister, it shows off her neckline this way. Ida agreed, said good eye Annie. Ida removed the apron, as Michael walked in. Holy shit, he looks yummy Ava thought. Black combat boots not tied, nice black slacks and a button up shirt tucked in. The two top button’s undone, tie undone under the collar. His hair tied back and that smile, completed the whole alluring package. Ida began scolding Michael for wearing boots, snapping Ava out of her drool fest. No, she announced, I like it. Ida just nodded and put her tool box away. Michael whistled and Bo came in. Around her neck, Michael tied a cute little purple bow tie.
Standing she eventually asked, so what do you think, doing a small spin, so he can see her from all angles. He gave her that sly grin and said, you’re breathtaking, so beautiful I'd like to take you upstairs and. OH NO YOU DON'T Ann-Marie chimed in, cutting him off. You will not mess up perfection. You can wait a couple hours before you get any ideas. To late Michael said, you've made her to attractive for her own good, grabbing Ava in his arms and kissed her breathless. He looked up at his aunt, she was smiling at him so sweetly, but trying to be tough. All right, All right, Michael said in surrender, stow that spatula, but after the I do's, she's all mine.
You ready Michael asked Ava, anticipating her becoming his wife. Sure Ava replied with a reassuring smile, are you going to tell me anything? Nope Michael said, it is going to be a surprise. I could always peek, she whispered playfully. You could Michael said, but you won't. Aren't we taking gran and your aunt, Ava asked? Nope, just us and Bo he replied cryptically. Ava was going to protest but decided to let him lead the surprise. After a while she noticed Michael was driving in a big circle, she was about to ask why, when she saw the town square. There were flowers and white balloons tied everywhere. The town looked alive and loved. The gazebo was painted purple and dark green, the colors went so well together. Flowers wrapped around the banister. The weather was even unseasonably warm making it feel like summer. You could see the grass has been mowed, bushes trimmed, benches and tables were scattered on either side of the flower petal "catwalk", that led to the gazebo were they would say I do. People were standing around talking, dressed up and holding wine glasses. Bo jumped out and ran over to Ida and Ann-Marie, when Michael stopped the truck. Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Baxter were sitting next to them talking probably introducing themselves.
Michael helped Ava out of the jeep, being mindful of how tight and long her dress was, so it didn’t rip. Ava said, you did this when? Michael kissed Ava's hand and said, you'd be surprised what a determined man could get done in one morning for the girl he loves. Ava dropped her head and thought of her father, causing her eyes to water. Michael lifted her chin gently and said, I made a lot of friends this morning, while you were sleeping. He walked her over to a bench out of sight of the guests and said, I did this so fast to show you how one morning can change someone’s whole life. Your father gave his last morning to help keep you safe for me, when I couldn't yet. So I honor him by creating this for us in one morning for him. My clothes, there dads he admitted. Ava noticed he filled out his father’s clothes perfectly. This ring he said holding up the diamond on her hand, is my moms, and this dress is from yours.
Ava tried not to cry and hugged Michael. She said, you’re amazing, and I’m the luckiest girl in the world. If I had one wish it would be that everyone finds there Michael. They sat staring at each other for a moment more, before Ava said, so you made friends. Yes, at dawn I drove the tractor to Mr. Johnson’s house. He wouldn't take it, he said we already did too much for him. I told him I didn't need it when he protested. I told him our family died, all but my dad, I told him he was away traveling. It wasn't a lie Michael sounded a little defensive, he is traveling in a way. Clever, Ava replied. I also told him, we have money from life insurance from when we lost our parents, which isn't a lie either. We did inherit our money, true Ava said. He still wouldn't take the tractor for nothing, so I told him if he introduced me to our neighbors and helped me create this special moment, he could keep the tractor. Fair Ava said, having no idea how much a tractor costs. Michael smiled noticing Ava zoned out on him for a moment and touched her cheek bringing her focus back on him. I spent the morning buying services from the whole town he said. Ava looked so curious, Michael took her hand and led her towards the party to show her. Mrs. Baxter was closest so he started with her, Michael did all the talking this time explaining she has made the wedding cake and the cookies you love. Ava thanked her absorbing her excitement. Mr. Johnson being a blunt man said, so what do you think? Ava smiled and said, its wonderful thank you for all your help.
Mr. Johnson smiled and winked at Ava, probably remembering Michael’s response last night and said, No miss Ava, thanks to your husband and your kindness, the people of this town paid off their debts. Ava stared at Michael when Mr. Johnson turned to say hello to a couple walking by, thankful she didn’t have an episode from his proximity in front of everyone. Michael could see the questions being asked by her eyes, but just whispered, that's my gift to our children. Ava stepped back and spun facing him, pulling him into a hug and said quietly, you can't buy friends Michael.
I'm not I swear, I just spread some money around to good people, so our children can grow in a community we take care of, with love, loyalty and trust. Ava kissed him, she understood, the longer she looked around, the town changed before her eyes. Life seem to sprout everywhere, you could see the people smiling and walking around conversing. She understood this one morning was going to change everything. A thought came to her and asked, Children, how many children are you expecting she whispered? As many as you wish to grant me, he whispered back.
Bo came over to her, wagging her tail. Ava bent down and rubbed her ears, noticing Michael’s birthday ring was tied to Bo's purple bow around her neck. Michael noticed Ava zone out for only a second when he said, I think on some level when I bought that ring, I knew I might need it someday, guess I was right. Ava blinked and said, yes but there's two there, no way, you got the same ring in my size this morning. No Michael said, I've been carrying it around in my bag for months, I never hid it I left it in plain sight. Ava was floored, son of a bitch she said to herself, how does he keep surprising me? Always two steps ahead. She wrapped her arms around him and said, I love you. And I you Michael replied drinking her in. You can still run Ava teased. Oh love he replied, you can’t get rid of me that easy. Good to hear she replied kissing him again. Are you ready he asked with a grin, trying to contain his anticipation? Michael when am I ever prepared, but if you’re asking if I want to become your wife, yes I’m ready. Michael led Ava down the ‘’catwalk’’, up to the gazebo draped in flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts were responsible for them. The flowers were beautiful, roses and lilies lined the gazebo railing. Everything was done in the most elegant, simple way that there was nothing to stress about. Her Michael thought of everything, like he always did, exceeding anything she could have planned herself. Ava felt guilty for not helping in the preparations, but looking at his gleaming face, she knew he didn’t care. This was so Michael, giving a thousand percent in his declaration of love and loyalty.
Ava met the Justice of the Peace, he was a short, chubby little man, but he was funny and very sweet. Michael stepped up onto the gazebo with Ava on his arm, quieting the party goers. Bo sat down next to Michael in the best man’s spot. The Justice of the Peace untied the rings from Bo's ribbon, she sat so still like a good girl. He placed them in Michael’s hand and began reading the standardize vows. Ava couldn't help crying, reminding herself that Michael wants her forever. I do Ava said sweetly, and placed Michael's ring back onto his finger and kissed the ring. What else could she say that he already didn’t know? The J.P. turned to Michael about to say his part of their oath and paused, when Michael wiped a tear from Ava’s eyes and whispered love are you alright? The crowd became eerily silent holding their breath waiting for the runaway bride scenario. Michael, Ava whispered trying to keep her voice low. These words don’t come close to conveying how much you mean to me. I know I will always need you more than you need me. I’m messy, and forgetful. Erratic and indecisive. I don’t know the first thing about becoming your wife and I fear by letting you say yes, I’m robbing you of an uncomplicated life. I love you so much that I’d rather burn in hell for eternity, than watch you have to live one moment of unhappiness.
Michael listened to Ava’s generous words, he knew she was trying to save him again, from some tragedy only she could see. Wiping her tears Michael slid Ava’s ring into place and said loud and clear so everyone could hear, Ava I love you and promise every day to be the husband you need me to be. I will thrive in any complication that comes our way, because I know you will always be my compass, guiding me through the storm. I will love you and honor you, and even defend your messy habits, and forgive that you’ll be the one to forget our anniversary.
The crowd laughed at his little joke and quieted down enough to hear the JP announce, it is my greatest honor, to introduce for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Wakefield. The crowd erupted with cheers of joy, startling Ava and Michael, who forgot they were there, during their kiss. Everyone congratulated them as they passed by, letting Ava meet and thank everyone Michael met that morning, being mindful not to make physical contact and trigger unwanted attention.
The night went off without a hitch, Ida and Ann-Marie made friends with the other ladies in town. They bonded over sweets and family stories, becoming fast friends. Mrs. Baxter’s wedding cake was simple, beautiful and delicious. It was three tiers, with a vine and leaf pattern like their rings, simply perfect. People danced and drank wine heavily, reconnecting, and making new acquaintances. Ava couldn't help but be thrilled that everything went so splendidly. She  watched Michael’s face as he moved around with her tucked close in his arms, greeting people, so full of pride to introduce her as his wife. cataloging every moment, not wanting to miss a second. Everyone seemed to like him instantly, before he even opened his mouth to speak. Ava thought, how could they not, look at him? Michael noticed Ava smiling at him and spun her around pulling her into another dance, leaving everyone around them laughing and enjoying themselves. She closed her eyes and let Michael spin her around the mock dance floor letting everyone else fall away. He kissed her when the music started up again playing a song that he requested. It was hard for him to choose a song to convey how he was feeling about this union and their life moving forward, without upsetting their guests to much.
She was in the moment with Michael, when he started singing into her ear quietly, our lives are made in these small hours. These little wonders, these twists and turns of fate. She was filled with such joy that she had to cry just to let go of the excess emotion. If it wasn’t for him singing to her and holding her so safely in his arms letting her know this was real, she’d think this was fates cruel joke.
The sun started to drop behind the trees, and Ava glanced around with Michael at everything he created. Things were perfect, the DJ keeping the atmosphere up beat but casual under a large clear tent, summoning the guests into the warmth. Everyone was pairing off to dance, or sit and drink together, Michael thinking of everything. As they followed the guests into the tent to dance, Ava noticed a small boy bothering the DJ as Michael spun her around. Michael felt Ava stiffen and continued to move her off the dance floor out of sight. Love talk to me what’s happened he asked, hoping it wasn’t anything to bad, instantly worrying about dad. Michael that large speaker is going to fall on that toddler, the parents aren’t watching, he’s going to climb it. Michael moved quickly scooping the little boy up and carried him over to his grandmother. Gran please watch this little man, he’s very interested in music, and I don’t know who he belongs too. I’ve got this Ida said with a wink, thrilled to see her grandson so happy after all these years. This wedding at home definitely takes the sting off of being apart, and missing all the other mile stones. So little man you like music Ida asked the tot, well I think I have something that you might like. I took this from my grandson so he wouldn’t forget to take it off during the ceremony. I don’t think he’d mind if I gave it to you. Ida removed the earphones from the IPod so he wouldn’t accidentally straggle himself, and handed it to him. The little boy looked at Ida with a little smile and disappeared under the table, where eventually he fell asleep listening to it.
As Michael returned to Ava he noticed a man standing in front of her,  he got closer and could make out an odd cross hanging like a wallet chain, and a priest collar around his neck. This priest was saying something quietly to her and reached a hand out for her to take. Michael could feel Ava’s apprehension and came up beside her and took his hand and introducing himself, letting Ava off the hook. The priest smiled and nodded, before walking away without a word. Love are you alright he asked her finding that encounter odd, considering he didn’t invite any clergyman? No she answered, why are they here she asked? Following her line of sight, he understood her issue, the three men that picked a fight at the derby were standing there. He smiled and kissed her neck holding her tightly and said, all is well love. Ava looked at Michael when he said they are the cleanup crew for tonight’s festivities. No, I am not paying them, this is there way of apologizing he added seeing Ava’s expression. Unsure at first she just took in his calm relaxed composure. She didn’t know how these bandaged up men were going to clean, but she trusted Michael completely, so she was not going to ruin his night with unnecessary worry. She observed the intrusive priest get into his car and drive away. For some reason he was persistent in finding out her surname and where they live, pushing for her to attend mass and save her soul.
After a couple more dances, and glasses of apple juice, Ava was getting tired. Everyone’s excitement drained her just as fast as any other emotion does, but at least she could smile through this. Michael looked happy, but she noticed he was worn out,  up before the crack of dawn creating all of this for them. They thanked everyone again, and asked gran and Ann-Marie if they were ready to go. Gran was cute and said, leave Bo, Mr. Johnson is going to give us a ride home a little later. Mr. Johnson got the hint and said, oh yes go ahead, I'll see the ladies home safe.
Michael scooped Ava into his arms and ran her to the jeep, eager to start their honeymoon, taking advantage of his gran’s attempts to give them privacy. As they pulled away, everyone raised there glasses shouting their congratulations again. The drive home was quick, Michael no longer needing to drive around to buy time. Ava asked, what's your hurry Mr. Wakefield? Michael flashed her that sly grin and said, I was told hands off until after you said I do. I think I have kept my promise, Mrs. Wakefield. Ava laughed his mood contagious, as Michael parked the jeep in front of the Manor, and carried her over the threshold. They left clothes scattered from the stairs all the way to their bedroom, taking advantage of every minute the Manor was empty.

Your boy has done it Ann Marie said clinking glasses with her sister. Oh I had no doubt, Charles told us the day they were born that one day they’d get married. I just wish they were all here to see the love that blossomed in their absence. Oh believe me sissy their watching, the ones we love never really leave us, I’ve made sure of it. Annie what did you do Ida whispered? Nothing recently I promise Ann Marie swore, I’ve told you every time I’ve dabbled. Annie please no more of your hocus pocus Ida requested, you know that makes matters worse. Sissy I swear I haven’t dabbled since Vivienne died. Thank you Ida said honestly, we can’t take chances with the baby coming. I know sissy, Ann Marie replied, I know.

I've had this dream before, Ava thought, my dad’s dream about Emma calling his name. Ava paused and listened, waiting for her aunt to say his name again so she could wake up, but she was completely floored when she heard her own name being called instead. Shit, Ava yelled fully waking up. Michael sat up before he was even awake, already on alert before his mind could catch up. Ava not wanting to ruin this honeymoon phase for Michael, just smiled and said, sorry babe I thought I over slept again. Michael too tired to think any further, fell back asleep after staying up to plan their big day, and satisfy his new bride late into the evening. The only coherent thing he said was a mumble of words, followed by Mrs. Wakefield. Ava gave a sad smile to his sleeping soul, she knew he was dreaming about her. This made her secretly excited to know her husband loves her enough to think about her in his sleep, but Ava thought, what if they were nightmares. She was causing him grief even in his sleep now, Ava internally yelled at herself.
Ava didn't dare ask him because he would stop sleeping in here with her, so she wouldn’t be upset. Oh Ava was upset alright, she was concerned that the cause of all Michael's unhappiness was threatening to arrive. Why does this have to fall in my lap today she thought, this problem could have been avoided decades ago. Ava stewed over the events that led them here, now. Figures her Aunt would only give her one night of wedding bliss, before reminding her of the looming death that awaits her. She couldn’t help but be prompted of all that was taken from them, and the continued threat of more to come. My grandmother dies in child birth giving birth to Emma. Grandpa accidentally gets his Warrior killed because he was stuck in Emma’s head. My mother and father were killed because of Emma. Ava had the pattern, Emma is the problem. She looked over at Michael's sleeping frame, he has lost so much. His grandfather gone due to Emma. His mother killed by Emma, and now because of her, he lost his father too.
Ava was getting so worked up, anger and worry plagued her heart greatly. Why does my aunt have to hate so much? Now she is threatening to destroy what family we have tried to salvage, and create. After everything Michael is doing to make it safe, for his baby. Anger, hate and betrayal ran through Ava's heart, like nothing she has ever felt before. She tried closing her eyes to try and calm down, before she woke up Michael. He always told her, he could feel a tug on his heart when she felt emotional. Well not this time Ava thought. When she opened her eyes, Ava was shocked, she was stuck in Emma's head. Shit Ava thought, why did I have to get so upset?
Emma must feel, how Ava feels right now making Ava mindful of whatever had Emma so upset and angry? Cast into the darkness, she looked around for anything of consequence to report to Michael. Gradually, like a picture developing, her hand came into view revealing a black feather. Fuck Ava thought, the raven. Calm down Ava thought, get information and get back to Michael. I can do this she thought to herself. Okay, raven feathers, I know that's by the crypt, sun is going down behind the trees. Ava could hear a rumbling sound and tried turning to look, but it didn't work. Brain, where's Brain? Emma looked towards the path to the house causing Ava to involuntary say Shit, hoping she could get everyone out by tonight as the vision dissolved away. Ava wondered if Michael was right, Emma didn’t know about her. Which was great because she could see her coming, if she concentrated hard enough. Yet her curse was still quite erratic and uncontrollable, but for her Michael, she’d pay any price.
Michael was staring at her, when she opened her eyes and looked over at him. Did you not think I would notice he asked, Ava you have never been a morning person. It took me a second, but you can't lie to me love. I didn't want to ruin your first morning as my husband, Ava whispered. Ava you’re my wife, I'm supposed to care about all of your worries and fears. Michael began his usual speech about doing things together, but was shut down by a kiss. Ava couldn’t stop kissing him, if this was the only happiness she was allowed before things get complicated she was going to take advantage. Love, Ava, Seer, Michael said trying to understand what happened because of the urgency on which she was touching him. Please Ava you’re turning me on, and making me want to hurt someone at the same time, please tell me what’s wrong?
Ava didn’t want to tell him, today was supposed to be about them, and starting a lasting relationship. She could see the worry in his eyes and hated it, she thought she’d at least be able to last a couple months before making him upset. Ava owed him the truth so she reluctantly explained what she saw, and heard, waiting for his reaction. Michael was up in a flash, his body and mind going from one thing to the next trying to plan a strategic defense. Michael, MICHAEL Ava shouted, STOP. Michael stopped directly in front of her. Michael please just stop, the more you move and plan, the blurrier the room gets. Ava waited for things to right themselves and said gently, please I understand CHARLES now, and I see how he knew Emma was coming for him. What you need to understand is the less people that are involved in the equation, the easier it is to see her. That’s why my father tried sending everyone away, so he could gain clarity. Now stop planning, I have already seen all the scenarios with your plans. Your right, shooting her right away solves one problem, but creates three more. There are other people at play here Michael, I can’t be naïve thinking everything will go as planned. You know the when and where, now we need to know the whys and how, so we can move on and heal. Please believe me Warrior, I need you to stand down unless there's immediate danger. Ava saw Michael's struggle all over his body to disagree, she knew she held his future in her hands, and that was not something she was willing to gamble, she owed this to his child.
Michael, she began to say, but he ignored her and finished getting dressed. I'm going on a run he eventually said, it's the best way I know to burn off my feelings. I can't believe your trying to do this alone he said grabbing her IPod off the nightstand. Michael, she began to say again when he cut her off. I'll be back in an hour, and he was out the door with Bo in tow. Ava figured, mine as well tell gran and Ann-Marie, let’s see their plans, so I know what I'm up against.
Ava opened herself up to Michael, he was exiting the screen door saying, no ladies no need of a new civil war as he ran away. Ann-Marie yelled after him, there ain’t going to be no war, we just ain’t agreeing whereabouts is better to live is all. Ida looked at her sister and said, New England is the best place to live, I've lived in the south if you recall. Yeah, yeah, now look what you've done, you riled up the locals Ann-Marie replied flinching when the screen door slammed closed.
Ava walked down the stairs to the kitchen, poured herself a bowl of cereal. Sitting down at the table to eat, Ida came in the kitchen saying, I was just going to start breakfast. That's okay gran, it's a cereal morning Ava replied cutting her off. That bad dearest, Ida asked? Yes, you might as well get Ann-Marie for this saga, Ava said in an apprehensive voice, the honeymoon is over.
The ladies sat at the table next to each other across from Ava, mindful to keep their distance when Michael was priming to blow, waiting on a spark to ignite his ferocity. Okay Ava thought to herself, just say it, rip off the band aide. Emma will be here in a couple hours. What do you mean coming here, Ida asked? When the sun goes behind the trees, she will be at the crypt. She's angry and I haven't seen Brain. The room started going all blurry as the ladies thoughts were turning into plans of action. Each thought moved and changed, blurring and shifting each time one of them changed their mind. Ava watched the outcome as Ida thought about shooting Emma. Ann-Marie was thinking of meeting her at the crypt. Each decision changed the outcome of the others fate.
She agreed with her dad’s thought process now, and why he had to sacrifice himself. She understood you can't plan, because one person’s choices can affect everyone else. Their families sacrifice made Ava realize she was not going to run, and she knew Michael was not going anywhere. Ava let the sister’s talk and plan, none of it mattered until Emma got here. Emptying her bowl and going upstairs to her bedroom, Ava decided she was not going to act. She is this one time, going to try and show her aunt the love she should have gotten, give her a chance to change. Emma will be the one to move against her first, set the tone for their introduction.
Ava laid down in bed, she had a migraine from the mind games, and her body ached. Gran called them growing pains, which made Ava annoyed thinking, just because something has a name doesn't make it any easier to handle. She closed her eyes and found herself rubbing her stomach. She couldn't shut off her blurry sight, there were too many balls in the air right now. Taking a deep breath and exhaling letting go, trying to mentally calm herself. I will stay calm lil one, I will keep daddy safe. Ava started humming the song she heard Ida humming for months and found it soothing.
Michael came in the house and poured himself a glass of water. Where's Bo Ida asked, when she didn't come in behind him. Doghouse, where's Ava he asked in return? Upper floors somewhere Ida replied concerned, I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding her. Did Ava talk to you he asked moving the conversation along? Is that why you’re fighting, Ida asked. Gran, no one is fighting, I screwed up. I broke the number one rule, I didn't listen to my Seer Michael confessed truly upset. That can be fixed grandson, Ida replied handing him her empty tea cup.
Michael made tea and sat down across from her, waiting on the kind slap of wisdom she drops on him when he’s down. She sipped her tea looking over her tea cup at him, scrutinizing his face, waiting on him to speak. Gran, I don't want to screw up, he finally said feeling ashamed. The two generations before me, have been blinded by love and loyalty, they didn't see the danger. Ava and I have seen it, we live the after math of their choices. How do I protect all I love, and not hurt anyone? I can't mess up gran, Ava and my child are the last ones. Michael stop, I understand Ida said sternly but with that gran sympathy. Your grandfather felt that way until your dad and Charles came around, and so on. So that will never change, it will always be a burden to carry on the family legacy, but you already said what you must do. Michael stared at his gran, he had all this anger and worry and nowhere to put it. She was right of course, the answer he was yearning for was in front of his face. Michael kissed her cheek and followed the pull to Ava, needing to make things right. He found her sleeping in their bed, hand over her pregnant stomach, looking picturesque. Wishing this image of her would forever stay imprinted in his mind.
He climbed in bed, laid his head next to her stomach and placed his hand over hers. He whispered, I don't know what's to come, but I promise to protect your mother with my life. That means you might not get to know me, but you will know I love you, because you will be special like your mom. Ava smiled and ran her hand threw his hair. He looked up at her and moved up next to her in bed. Ava I'm sorry, my need to protect you, blinds me. I forgot the rule, on my run I kept hearing my dad say it to me. So I promise to try and not act until you need me too. Just remember our baby isn't here yet for me to run like you asked. Ava blushed at the memory of her breakdown, hearing him repeat her own words. Michael I promise to keep your child safe, and I was never asking you to leave. I told you everything, that's the difference between us and the past. I didn't take this morning alone, well until you left me. Michael dropped his head in response, the truth stinging his soul. Michael, Ava said sweetly lifting his chin to look at him, like he always did. I want us to stand together, whole, united. In the past, they handled these problems alone, like our dads say, we are stronger together. Michael kissed Ava, sweetly at first, but got more intense as the truth set in, someone might not be coming back.
Brian was a little worse off than he thought,  fighting off Emma and her guests every night, with no food left him very weak. Not training wasn’t good for him, and no matter how much water he drank he still felt fatigued. The bike was heavy to hold as he drove towards the estate, so much so that he told her he needed to pull over and rest. Hopefully giving Ava more time to see, feeling guilty about not getting a message to them. Emma agreed of course without lashing out, but that was only because she needed him to procreate. So she wasted no time stealing a car at the truck stop, not excepting his failure as her own. Brian was trying to reserve whatever energy he had left, but he kept getting dizzy and confused. Get out she said to him, we need to walk from here. Brian was surprised how much time passed, he must have dozed off, because he knew these woods.
Where's Bo, Ava asked later that evening after dinner? I haven't seen her since our run this morning Michael replied. Well Ida chimed in, I'm going out on the porch. I'll join you, Ann-Marie added getting up to follow saying, Michael be a dear and bring out that tray of tea for me.
Michael winked at Ava and said, be right back, don't worry Bo won't go far. Ava thought about her when Michael left the room, where are you? Ava closed her eyes and searched for Bo’s particular hum with her sight, trying to see her. She was pulled to the crypt hard making her body jerk towards the door in response, ignoring the new gash on her arm, that she could feel burn as her skin broke open. Emma's here, where's Brain and Bo, Ava worried trying to push past the fog in her sight to see clearly? Ava could hear growling, it sounded like a rumble of thunder in the distance. She tried focusing in on their guardian's growl, when Emma bellowed out with the most sinister cry coming into focus, holding a black feather.
Ava felt Michael wrap his arms around her waist and whispered, come back to me. Ava let go of Emma's tantrum and said, Michael I've got this. I just need you to stand with me. Michael kissed Ava and said, lead the way, he was not going to let her down. Heading out to the porch together, Ava walked up to the sisters and said Emma's here, and she’s at the crypt. She will be here shortly, all I'm asking of you ladies is to wait, see what she wants. Get your answers and be done with it Ava said calmly. Michael felt the demand radiate from her request as he watched his seer kiss them both, and hugged them like it could be someone’s last.
Sitting down on her swing, she looked different to Michael, he just couldn't place it. So he sat dutifully beside her, but on the inside his soul was screaming. He wanted to stalk, chase and kill Emma, just for the satisfaction in it. Unlike his stag, he would take great pleasure in watching her guts fall out as he cut her open, gut to gullet. Stop scheming Ava said squeezing his hand in hers, your plans are getting too defined. Michael loved and hated that Ava could see his desires, but he couldn’t dwell because Ava spoke. She's looking at us, and I don't see your dad. Michael looked out over the yard and yes, he can just make her out behind the tree, along the border of the yard.
The sisters sipped tea and just had a silent conversation with their eyes, like only sisters can. Ava didn't focus on the sisters, she didn't want to feel anything but what she was supposed to. Michael, Ava whispered, she recognizes Ann-Marie, things are starting to get blurry. Michael held her hand and said a simple I love you, and they kissed, which intensified quickly. After a moment Ava felt him trying to lift her, diverting her with his love, trying to camouflage his need to run with her. Nice try, Ava whispered keeping Emma in her mind’s eye. Don’t blame a guy for trying, Michael teased trying to hide his restlessness?
Ava watched the outcome swirl, she seemed to be able to see seconds before someone made a choice, she didn't have much wiggle room. She's coming now Michael, Ava spoke loud enough for the sisters to hear her. As soon as Ava said it, Michael saw Emma step out from behind the tree. Emma walked across the lawn like she owned the place, she was tall, slender and had permanent scowl lines on her face. Michael wasn’t expecting it but he couldn’t help notice the similarities she beheld to his Ava. She stopped a few feet in front of the porch, like she was reminiscing of times past. Michael stayed focused on her, trying to ignore the new cut on Ava’s arm bleeding threw her sleeve, which he knew was payment for using her gifts.
Emma, it's nice of you to finally join us, Ida said casually, masking her indignation. Ann-Marie gasped and stood, crying, happy to see her. Ava stood up, walked over to the steps and faced Emma, halting Ann Marie. Michael being a great protector stood partially in front of her, trying not to react like she asked. If he was being honest with himself, all he could think about was this evil cunt killed his mom, and how good it would feel to rip her heart from her chest. Emma looked at Ava, and asked her in a condescending tone, why are you in my house? Ava gave a high pitched unnatural laugh and said, your house, your house, who are you kidding dearest Aunt. Emma blanched for only a moment, noticing her pregnant belly, before she plastered a snarl on her face. Did you not know about me, did you not see me Ava further probed at her Aunt’s weaknesses? This is my house, I am Ava Lee Nostradam, my father Charles, your twin brother was master of this house. Michael looked at Ava with bewilderment, she was so superior and arrogant as she spoke. Ava satisfied she stung her Aunt by acknowledging her truth wasn’t surprised when Emma's face change from one of disbelief to anger. Ava continued, I know all about your crusade for revenge, how you wasted your life chasing answers to questions that can never be answered, because you killed everyone that could give them to you. Your hate and self-indulgence has stolen your life, poisoned your soul and has left you isolated. Seer stand with me, Ava pleaded briefly, Aunt Emma change your course. Emma hearing Ava’s begging, felt disgusted by it, and screamed this raw primal roar of a laugh. You could see her whole body trembled with rage, and felt the static charge in the air. As Emma took a step towards Ava in retaliation, Michael lifted the gun from his holster. Emma stopped surprised someone was going to give her a challenge, looked past the barrel of the gun pointed at her and stared at Ava with revulsion. Ava could feel her antagonism radiate off her body, as Emma again scanned the sisters, looking for a way to weaken them. Taking a deep breath Ava calmed herself so she wouldn’t lose control, and get swayed by her Aunts emitting hatred.
Ida spoke when Emma made eye contact with her, where is your Warrior Brian? Emma displayed that cruel smile seeing a way to hurt them, and pointed off behind her with her long pointy finger and said, you killed one of mine, only fair I take one of yours. Ida went to go at Emma to cause her harm, but Michael blocked her advance with his arm, when he felt Ava move behind him. Ann-Marie spoke up moving in front of her sister asking, why Emma? Where did my sweet little girl go? Please Ann-Marie begged, please tell me what they say is not true. Tell me you didn't kill your own twin brother, torture their mothers. Please tell me you’re not that cruel. Michael felt Ava stiffen behind him and wanted to know why, until he felt her grab his arm letting Ann Marie pass. Reluctantly Michael watched his Aunt step off the porch, moving closer to Emma, arms reaching out to her.
As Ava witnessed the outcome change, she could see multiple solutions and problems. She grabbed Michael's hand and said in a quiet strong voice, Warrior holster your gun. Michael looked at Ava in disbelief, but did what he was told and holstered his weapon on his back. Always listen to your Seer came across Michael’s ears in his dad’s voice again, like a chanting guide. Ava took a step in front of Ida while Emma and Ann-Marie where still locked in a heated discussion an arm length away from one another. Emma was screaming, you betrayed me by coming here, you call that love. Ann-Marie replied devastated, you left me, the house was destroyed. I couldn't find you, I had nowhere else to go. Emma spat at her, you disgust me this is not love.
Emma we can show you Ava said softly, trying to give her one last chance. I'm willing to start over, let the past stay in the past. As she spoke, she grabbed Michael's arm, and moved him behind her. Every fiber of his being was screaming this was so wrong, but he kept hearing his father’s voice in his head say always listen to your Seer. Michael wrapped his arms around Ava while she talked, if anything happened he would spin her and use himself as a shield. Michael always thinking two steps ahead, Ava had to adjust were they were standing now because he changed the outcome.
Ida called her sisters name and took a step to go around them, so Ava had to turn to block her way. Emma realizing she wasn’t going to win, grabbed Ann-Marie and pulled her body to her, spinning her to face the family. As she did, she pulled a knife out of her boot and stabbed Ann-Marie in the back puncturing her lung, holding her body up for them to see. The whole time she was grinning at them, like she won some type of a prize, taunting them to react.
Ava held Michael's hands firm around her stomach, he was not going to kill Emma. She was not going to soil his soul, there was only one out come now. Ida snapped watching her little sister gasp, and spit blood from her mouth, her eyes fearful as she slowly suffocated. Ida screamed her sisters name, grabbed the gun from Michael's back holster and put a round right through her own sisters chest. It was a clean shot, through and through and landed right in the middle of Emma's chest, taking her completely by surprise.
Ava moved aside and Ida ran to her sister screaming I love you, I had too and laid on top of her body sobbing. Michael looked at the scene in front of him, and thought, Ava saw this outcome months ago, she told me. All this stress and all I had to do was put feelings aside and listen to my Seer, shit dad.
Michael ran as fast as he could to the crypt, and almost fell down the cobble stone steps, forgetting about the missing one. He caught his balance at the bottom, just in time to have Bo lunge at him aggressively. Michael yelled her name and she halted her attack going limp in his hands. He set her down gently and said, good girl where's dad. He found Brain in the dark after a few moments of feeling around. Michael lugged his father’s limp, heavy body up the stairs so he could see him. As he laid him on the frosted grass, his father groaned filling Michael with joy. He's alive he yelled in his head, as he looked him over.

Brain opened his eyes and tried to get up hurriedly saying, Michael where is Ava. He was a little dizzy and his head throbbed, but all he could comprehend was getting to Ava. Seeing the blood covering the whole left side of his face, Michael sat down beside his father to take a closer look, finding it had stopped bleeding. Dad calm yourself the threat has passed, Michael said holding him down, what happened to you? Emma, Brian asked ignoring his question because the explanation was too long? Dead, Michael replied seeing the mixed feelings on his father’s face, like he already knew. She attacked me Brian finally admitted to Michael. I was already disoriented and weak when she hit me and shoved me down the crypt, I must have hit my head on the way down and blacked out. I’m so sorry Michael, Brian said stumbling to find the words to express his failures. Don’t be, Michael said in an upbeat tone, wanting to give him hope to hold on too. I have good news, I'm going to be a dad. Brain’s eyes watered, congrats son, best feeling ever. Michael chuckled happy to see his dad was coming around. The men hugged, and Michael helped him get back to the Manor by lending a shoulder to lean on. Michael told his father, how Ava predicted step by step how everything played out, as they walked together. Michael expressed, he was sad for Ann-Marie, but at the same time surprised. Did you know gran could shoot like that? Yes Brain said wincing a little, granddad taught her. Brain stopped his son and faced him. Son don't ever underestimate the woman in our lives, they will surprise and challenge us every day. What we get from them out weighs anything we have to endure to keep earning that love. We will never speak their language but we can make sure their safe to be themselves. Michael hugged his father again, he’s missed him so much. They had a way of communicating that just made sense, he could never imagine life without him.

As they arrived at the Manor, Ava was still on the porch, Michael noticed something was wrong right away. He let his father go and ran to her. Ava was stuck in Ida's emotions, she felt guilty for shooting her sister and losing Brian. Leaving Ava frozen in guilt for choosing this outcome, doubting her choice now. Michael grabbed Ava and begged her to talk to him, please. Ava cried, eye for an eye, I did this pointing her finger towards the heap on the ground. Look at gran Ava wept, can't you feel her pain. Yes love Michael said trying to find the words, you only reacted to the actions of others. Don't you see, there was no other outcome for us Michael finished saying, turning Ava away.
Brain limped over to his mother and picked her up off the ground, and hugged her tight. Ida looking at her son, grasped him back and cried, I thought you were lost to me. Brain just held his mother and let her grieve. I killed your Seer son, and I murdered my sister, please Brian, help me. Brain bent down on one knee, put his hand on her heart and said, mother my soul is my own. Ida gawked at her son in disbelief, you forgive me? I killed her Ida said unable to believe, what about your oath? Brain replied calmly, mother you released my heavy burden, I was going to tear my soul and kill her myself. You saved me, do you forgive me for being weak, blinded by my oath to see I was too late. Ida stood tall with the help from her son and said, you have fulfilled your oath to Charles, we are both forgiven. His daughter and legacy will live on, as will ours thru your son.
Michael turned Ava to Brian and said, love please try to see past this, give yourself the chance to see what will be, not what is? Ava tried, she focused on Michael's eyes, tried to pull strength from his reassuring soul.  She saw Michael holding a child, his child, he was smiling at her. She took a deep cleansing breath and grabbed Michael tight, letting go the best she could. Ava whispered, would our child understand my choice. Michael held Ava, he couldn't let her go, and he couldn't believe it was over. Ava love, our child is going to know Emma for who she was. We are going to write it all down, no secrets, no fears. Our family will know, and will see the truth through your wisdom and beauty. Our child will know the stories, and be trained in defense by the best man I know. Also our baby has a super incredible, handsome father, who would die every day just so he or she wouldn't have to shed a single tear. This gave Ava hope and enough strength to do what was needed now.
They spent some time mourning the loss of more family members. Brian unwilling to get cleaned up and medical treatment, opting to stand with his mother. Michael waited until Ava was calm enough before he took the cart to get wood from the outpost, thankful he still had some whole logs readily available. Brian helped him by stacking the wood, having done it before. Ida went and got matches from the kitchen, unable to think past that little detail at the moment. Brain moved his aunt on to the grass and fixed her clothes, and brushed the hair from her eyes. This brought up emotions he’s been trying to keep buried deep, and let himself grieve aloud, this chapter was finally over.
Ava went inside and filled a pail with warm water, pulled a cloth from the shelf and went outside. She knelt beside Ann-Marie, dipped the cloth into the pail and began wiping the blood off her face and arms. Ida tour her dress and knelt down beside Emma and began cleaning her as well. Michael pulled up and dumped the wood on the ground and asked his grandmother why she was doing it. Ida said grandson, no matter what she has done in life, she has paid for in death. My sister loved her, and paid with her life to try and save her, the least I can do is no more, no less then she would for someone I loved.
Michael understood this. Ava nodded in agreement with gran, Emma was still her family. She couldn’t help grieve that the only connection to her father was now gone. Brain and Michael finished building the pyre, laid the woman atop of it. Ida said a few words, love, loyalty and a safe journey. We will be together again one day, as Michael struck the match. The family stood together arm and arm silently, holding hands saying goodbye in their own way.
After the ashes were put in a metal trash can, Michael carried it to the side of the manor. Everyone gathered on the porch, the dead of night was transforming into dawn, no one spoke, just sat together. Ava and Michael on the porch swing with Bo in her dog house. Ida in her chair continuously handing Brian cheese and fruit, and filling his tea cup, adding a bit of spirits for the pain. Brain sat dutifully where Ann Marie usually sat, his head no longer throbbing, but his body language screamed exhausted.
Ava excused herself and told everyone she was going upstairs, so they wouldn't worry. She went to her study and sat in the chair by the fire place and cried over whelmed, she was officially the last of her bloodline. Michael watched Ava leave and was going to follow, when Brain said, son I'm so proud of you. Michael replied sadly, dad I didn't do anything. You did son, sometimes inaction is doing something. Don't ever doubt yourself or Ava, together you will change everything. Ida spoke up, our little boy married Charles little girl yesterday, at least Annie got to witness it. Really Brain said, that's good news, quick but I'm happy for you. Sorry I couldn't be there with you, I would have loved to see it. Michael smiled for the first time all night as Ida said don't fret son, Miss Jolene Kent, cute little thing around your age filmed the whole thing. I may have mentioned Ida continued, that I have a handsome son that was single. Brian picked up his mother’s hand and said, mom I love Vivienne, I've had my life, love and family. Well no one said you had to marry her son Ida said regaining some of her spunk. It's been thirteen years, just thinking it couldn't hurt to have a little fun. Clean out the cobwebs Ida finished giving her son that sly grin. Brain kissed his mother’s cheek as he got up and said, thank you mom I’ll think about it, but for now I’m going to take a shower. He couldn’t bear to retell what transpired to turn him off women for a good long while. Especially to his mother, he’ll leave that tale for the journals. He fought with himself deciding if he should even do that, but his humiliation and loyalty to his family may prove to be good lesson when he’s gone.
Michael got up and excused himself to go check in on Ava. Ida got up and said come on Bo, let’s get some more tea and go to bed. Michael climbed the stairs mentally exhausted, letting his bond pull him to Ava, where he found her in the study. She'd been crying, tears stained her face, she had fallen asleep in the chair. Michael gently picked her up and carried her off to bed, relieved it was all over.
